In exactly one week, on Friday June 29th, SME will be getting married. A couple months ago, I got an idea for something very special. In honor of this once in a lifetime event, I privately contacted a few people about a top secret project to surprise SME.

I asked certain people if they would like to donate to a community fund for a wedding gift. The response was overwhelming and I was able to expand upon my original idea considerably. Today, those gifts are to be delivered to SME's new apartment, so I decided to dedicate a thread to the people who contributed. Now they too can see what their generosity went towards.

Thank you so much guys! Couldn't have done this without you The shipping address and/or email for everyone listed below was included with the gifts, so SME can send proper Thank You cards to each and every person responsible for this wonderful gesture.

As for the gifts, there will be three parcels in total.

The first parcel is being delivered today. Two dozen multicolored roses in a ginger glass vase from proflowers.com

The second parcel is also being delivered today. A big ol' box containing the following items:
- Wedding themed scrapbook, ready to use or to add embellishments
- 3 archiving pens
- 1 unit of photo tape (to use with the scrapbook)

- 4 "Wedding Day" fragrance Yankee votive candles
- Bride's Journal, for SME's private thoughts
- "The Treasure of Friendship" book about what is true friendship
- "Married for Life" book about what makes a marriage work

- glass nail file, which never dulls
- bejeweled book mark with moon & star charm
- 2 inspirational & celebratory magnets
- wedding themed stickers
- congratulatory cards

I know, right? Girls are always suckers for flowers. I read a recent study that people who receive flowers smile 100% of the time. Every single time someone received a bouquet, they smiled. Flowers have some kind of effect on people, maybe it's the nice smell and lovely colors. Flowers are always a fail safe gift, everyone likes 'em!

I'm rather eager to reveal the third parcel, but it's not ready yet. It was SO hard to keep all this a secret from SME. I almost spilled the beans many, many times. I'm really horrible with secrets and surprises.

*blushes* Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Words cannot express AT ALL how ecstatic I was when I heard the doorbell ring and the UPS guy standing there with not one but two parcels!

Thank you all soooooo very much! You have all put a big, bright smile on my face. Everything, absolutely everything is perfect and I appreciate it all from the bottom of my heart. I did not expect this at all. You are all so very wonderful and I'm so happy to have you all as friends in this community. You all have warmed my heart so much! I had so much fun looking at all the different items I've received, and yes I'll be using every single one of them!

The wedding pre-made album was especially a very nice touch because I for the life of me can never figure out how to scrapbook. I'll definitely be sure to show you guys a lot of wedding and honeymoon pictures! I already took pictures of the flowers, but sadly one died in transit. I'm going to take more pictures tomorrow and the day after to show them in full blossom. Right now the only thing I had to place them on was my dresser as everything else is still in boxes hehehe.

Once again, I can't thank you all enough. This was truly a really big surprise, and Toni knows me very well, as I don't fall for surprises easily at all, but you guys sure did surprise me on this one! I should have known when Toni was trying to confirm my address that something was up, but I've been so busy with final wedding preparations that I didn't give it much thought, silly me!

I have most everyone's mailing addresses, so please do expect a Thank You note in the mail when I return from my honeymoon. If I do not have your address and you would like for me to send you a thank you card, please do PM or e-mail me. There are a few who I only have e-mail addresses for.

Thank you all once again, from the bottom of my heart. This is truly one of the best surprises I've ever received!

I'm so beyond elated (as well as relieved) to know that you liked the stuff, SME! I was so worried that you may not need or like the things I picked out. But it's the thought that counts, right? I think you will have a lot of fun with that scrapbook, Brad can even help you with it.

I can't believe one rose died The poor thing. The bouquet should last 7 days or longer, which is why I sent them one week before your ceremony. A fun thing to do, if you want, is save the dead roses and let them dry out. You can hang the entire dead rose upside down and let it dry straight, if you want to preserve the whole thing. Or you can remove the petals and place them in between the pages of a book. The weight will flatten and straighten the petals; they will be as thin as paper. Might make a nice keepsake, potpourri or decoration for your scrapbook.

Sletia, I sincerely apologize about that. My job has kept me so preoccupied for the last few months that I don't know where my mind has been lately. I'm fairly sure I didn't contact as many people as I should have. Doing this in secret made things trickier too. If I could have posted a thread and asked openly for contributions, then more people would've known and participated. But it's my fault if anyone missed their opportunity since I had to do it behind-the-scenes, so to speak. I sent you a PM and I welcome anyone else interested to PM me. It's never too late, because I always have something up my sleeve.

Well, SME's ceremony was Friday, June 29th. So now she's officially married and going about her newlywed-way. The third and final gift will arrive soon and since she already knows about it (not what it is or when she'll get it), I'm going to openly ask the forum if they'd like to contribute. Anyone who missed their chance can act now. Just PM me for instructions on what to do. If you do decide to donate, you'll receive a Thank You card in the mail from SME and possibly something special from me in the future.

Again, thank you guys for making this super secret project a HUGE success! When the third gift arrives and SME has a free moment, she'll have to post a picture of it. Unfortunately, I won't be able to take any pictures of it, otherwise I'd post them myself.
