Re: How often do you hold back discussing "obscure" an

In school I had a teacher who brought in tapes of an old show about a little boy monk who would rub his temples to think through problems given to him by older monks, Ikkyu-san. During my years of collecting, I found some cels from it, and now I know it was the cartoon for an entire generation of C...

Re: Past and Upcoming Anime Seasons

Can't recall in my memory such a meager summer season...at least there should be a few good sequels worth watching.

I'd like to check out ReZero, Enen no Shouboutai, No Gun No Life, and maybe SAO. And maybe Gibiate, I wonder where they got that plot idea.

Re: Something for the 4th

Really like the update on your hanken section, as well as the older PC game hankens, haven't seen many of those during the time I collected. Also agree on the intermission being for the better. Its been a really long time since I had the slow down to be able to dedicate so much time/energy to myself...

Re: Fall 2018 Anime Season

Ah, so that's why it was called that eh? That's interesting. The 3-D in that series was decent. It's too bad there's no anime continuation for it. I was wondering what was going to happen to that blonde woman. She was put in a difficult position. Yeah im curious about that too, although she was the...

Re: Fall 2018 Anime Season

Haha, that's Double Life, the one I was talking about that haven't had any signal since over 2 years ago after initial part 2 announcement. A Portrait of Jianghu currently has 5 different stories going, double life was the 4th one. So her name is Yong Er, also was revealed at the end that her nickna...

Re: Fall 2018 Anime Season

Yeah, lately I've been watching "The Daily Life of the Immortal King" (from a YouTube poster). It was supposedly partially inspired by "The Disastrous Life of Saiki K". Some parts are pretty silly, but I enjoyed it (only one episode to go). With that logo at the beginning it loo...

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

SMJ was great while it lasted. It definitely contributed to the bulk of my collection as it did for many others. Rinkya at first glance seems to set the industry standard for expensive proxy, but there are actually more outrageous proxies out there that charges a % of your winning bid. SMJ was overa...

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

1. What was the best thing that's happened to your gallery/collection in 2019? Was able to cut spontaneous purchases down a level, partially due to the shrinking availability. Wasteful hobby spending has been an issue for me for many years, and every year I could pick out over a handful of items tha...

Re: Fall 2018 Anime Season

Recently I started to get into chinese series as well. Was quite impressed with 5th season of Qin's Moon(much less so with 1st and 3rd season) as well as its gaiden series the Nine Songs of the Moving Heaven. Apparently the initial series was hyped up to be the spearhead of modern chinese animation,...

Re: Summer 2018 Anime Season

Not sure how you'd define Chinese series here. This previous season I've been enjoy Hitori no Shita season 2. But also a bunch of nice Japanese series. The summer will have a bit fewer series I'd be interested, but still quite a few: Aguu: Tensai Ningyou Angolmois: Genkou Kassenki BANANA FISH FLCL A...

Re: There are those Pieces

The disappointment happens to me mostly on the pieces I at least moderately desire but didn't get. Like to keep an open mind on what gets my attention outside of specific character/series. But what I do find this so called "magnetic force" is with specific criteria I obverse from certain u...

Re: What Do You Miss (And Not Miss) from The Good Ol' Days

Having recently concluded 8th year in this hobby, by the time I extensively researched online sources available to acquire artwork, very few of them were left, still fewer updated. A handful of the major sources that people were constantly reminiscing about, I never saw. So that's one aspect I compl...
