Re: How do you feel about copies?
What is your stance on collecting copies? Do you think there is real, collectible value in copies? Is the value only personal? And what do you think about sellers who would make multiple copies of sketches to make a never ending source of profit? Well, firstly, the fact that he got a bit nasty and ...

Re: The Last of Sensei's 2012 Upgrade Thread: Mayan Doomsday
Wow, Sensei, I really like the fun things you do with your gallery. I just looked through your Quirky Year in Review. You really have a great way of sharing not just the images of your cels, but also your feelings toward them, the history behind them (and the shows they come from), and, well, YOUR h...

Re: What do you want for Christmas?
Hmm...well, it looks like I'll actually be getting a couple of my wishlist cels this month. For my wishlists, I hesitate to pick an exact frame, because the task of obtaining one just seems so difficult to complete. So, for now, early in my more serious collecting phase, I'm just trying to get cels ...

So I just won my 1st real Mandarake bid war
http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/itemInfo.do?itemId=03003642850100001 It's a hanken douga for Zone Fighter, a tokusatsu show. I'm not sure what this was used for exactly, since it was a live-action show. Maybe a toy or something? Anyway, previous to this I've only won scripts, and then usually bec...

Re: What is your preferred or most-used avenue for cel hunti
Wow, Keropi! I'm assuming you kept records of all of this. I don't think I'd remember all of that stuff as clearly as you explained it if it had been my story. I've been having a lot of fun with Mandarake. I have yet to win anything besides scripts at this point, but I've got my eyes on some artwork...

MCoG Question: Zia's Hair Color?
So I've been looking at some Mysterious Cities of Gold cels, hoping to buy one of Zia (wishlist cel of mine), but I've noticed something that's gotten me puzzled. Watching the show, she has very dark brown or even black hair. Many of the cels I've seen mirror this. But there are some I've seen where...

Re: What are the physical remnants of CG anime?
Interesting. Well, I'm glad it's still cost-effective to do things by hand, and that the business isn't 100% digital now. I guess we're all glad about that, actually. Hopefully we'll continue to see new stuff pop up for years to come.

What are the physical remnants of CG anime?
I've read about and understand the pre-CG age way anime is made. We have layouts, genga, douga, backgrounds, timing sheets and cels, but now with CG, what do we have? I mean, I guess I know, after reading posts and seeing stuff for sale, but I just wanted a quick rundown on how stuff is made nowaday...

I'll be praying that a repeat of 3/11 doesn't happen. Glad it wasn't too bad this time.
