What are Settei Sheets? Are they worth buying?

I occasionally see characters model sheets and "Settei" go up for sale, sometimes for really expensive prices, but my confusion is that often the images are available online already- so is there a difference in buying them vs. a Print/Xerox copy I've made myself? My understanding of this i...

I got my first cels in August 2004 to have to decorate the walls of my new apartment for graduate school. The first 3 were cels from GTO that I thought looked cool.
Aw, that's awesome! Do you still have them?

My First Cel - Little Nemo In Slumberland

Being so new to this- I was scared to post. I hope I don't sound too naive. So I've always been a fan of animation and fascinated by it's process of production. Both modern and traditional. In the past year, I graduated from a long six year journey through college and when I got my own apartment, I ...

Re: What you collect that no one else collects?

Interesting. I see batches of what are sometimes called "reference materials" for some Japanese series. These are photocopies of some of the key animators' sketches for others on the production team to use. Also "concept drawings," also made not for use but as reference material...

Re: What you collect that no one else collects?

I collect production/pitch bibles. (Also show scripts) I have a few right now though they are currently only for western cartoons. A couple I cannot share online outside a few details, but it's cool to see the initial groundwork for a cartoon. Some industry friends have even gifted me copies of thei...

Douga Artist

Has anyone ever found a way to identify the original Douga artist?
Now-a-days, modern anime and cartoons are very forward about who animated what but seems to be more difficult when looking at older anime.

New Member. Nice to meet you :)

Hello, I'm Bingk
and I started collecting cels roughly a year-ish ago.
I currently only have 3 but I'm really proud of them.
One from Metropolis, Little Nemo, and Sailor Moon.

I'm curious as to how to be involved in the community. Thank you <3
