Re: 2021 Year in Review & 2022 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

2020 - I said wanted to get the artwork that's owed to me. I'm still waiting on those Mamoru Yokota sketches. I'm glad that he apparently finished them after 3+(?) years but I've seen previews of his finished jobs for me several times in the past and won't believe they exist until they arrive state...

Re: How often do you hold back discussing "obscure" an

Glad to see I'm not the only one avoiding mentioning obscure titles in case of competition :cheers An investor I know collected a title once and I knew I wasn't going to be posting cels from it publicly anytime soon lol I have over 30 cels/sketches and still want more /ok They go for an average of $...

Re: Lightning Updaters, Slow Updaters, and Black Hole Collectors

Slow updater/ black hole collector I want to post more of my collection but I'm still waiting on a scanner. I like my photos to look high quality, right now I'm just using ones from the previous owner. There are a few obscure series I've amassed over 20 pieces of production art from and I don't thin...

Re: 2020 Year in Review & 2021 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

1. What was the best thing that's happened to your gallery/collection in 2020? I managed to obtain a few artworks from series I've read and enjoyed. Also kickstarted my cel collection! 2. What was the most surprising thing that happened to your gallery/collection this year? I now have more productio...

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

The Kazuchika Kise sketches look great! Especially the Yuuko ones, great choice! Wow, Millennium Snow 8O I haven't heard of that title for over a decade... Now that I'm looking it up, I realize it was never finished when I first read it and only completed in late 2013. Guess I'll be doing a reread s...

Re: Anyone else currently in this situation?

One of my packages was sent out on the 17th and it's still in Posting/Collection.
I heard that the current queue of EMS packages can take up to 4 months. SEA might be faster at this point :l

I'm definitely going to have my next package sent via DHL. Don't want to lose or damage my first cel! 8O

Buyee Protective Packaging

I bought my first cel and some production sketch sets 2 weeks ago. I'm thinking of consolidating and shipping them out via DHL asap. For anyone who has bought multiple cels/sketches using Buyee and chose to consolidate them into one shipment, do you guys add protective packaging? On reddit, someone ...

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

I think it depends on what you're looking for and how picky you are. At least, that's the case with me. There's a lot of artists that I'd love to get even a squiggle from, but then there are other artists where I want something really nice and that's all I'll settle for. With cels, it really depend...

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

Since I joined, I've been reading a lot of past threads and the yearly resolution ones. I recall reading someone's transition from cels to shikishi. I think that's how it usually is lol. In my case though, I have only collected shikishi and now I want to start collecting cels. Is that weird? :-P Pr...

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

Yeah, I spend a lot more using Buyee too. Worst part is they don't do combined shipping. They have so many YJ accounts; whenever I'm purchasing a lot of items from one seller, a different account is used for each :( so I end up paying multiple shipping fees :l Now I use Goody-Japan for that type of ...

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

1. What was the best thing that's happened to your gallery/collection in 2019? It increased in size (but not quality :x) and I managed to obtain some art from mangaka whose works I used to read. 2. What was the most surprising thing that happened to your gallery/collection this year? Just the influx...

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

^ Buyee is a good one. They automatically take the money from your PP or CC only if you win the auction. Downside is that it takes place day of the winning so you don't get a few weeks to pull together the money. They often have coupons for 100% off service fee. Last month was YJA, now it's Mercari....
