Re: Background Painting Technique?
Hi Sensei! I don't have an internet source, but I spent a semester this past school year doing BG painting techniques with Michael Hitchcox, who was classical BG painter/supervisor at Nelvana in the 80s/90s/2000s, and he did a lot of things with us that were really facinating and answered a lot of t...

Re: Any photoshop gurus out there?
Hi again Goldknight! I have two PMs sitting in my Outbox to you that don't seem to want to become proper Sent Messages and there's a worrysome voice in my head telling me that neither of them are showing up in your Inbox (I don't want to have offered up help then appeared to have vanished off into t...

Re: Any photoshop gurus out there?
I'm desperate. My publishing deadline is coming up and I'm getting frustrated. I'm working on some images for my textbook and have hit a roadblock. Is there anyone who'd be willing to help me out with 3 pics that I'm trying to manipulate? On one pic I want to insert 3 rectangle around a dog's body ...

Re: Anime's Influence on American Animation
I'm not sure if it's helpful to you at this point or not, but Avatar/Korra creator Bryan Konietzko handed out an awesome package to his staff back in the earlier days of Avatar describing (among a ton of other technical animation things) what he was looking for from anime that could be shown through...

Re: How do you read a timing sheet?
I'm going to elaborate on Sensei's reply a little :D The 8 frames to a second is pretty normal Japanese/asian animation. North America exposes on 12 frames per second. Not a steadfast rule for both origins, but usually good rule of thumb. And it actually doesn't create a quicker pace. You could anim...

Re: Adventures in Restoring Faded Lines
Thanks for sharing the process, and agreed, the "new" cel looks fantastic. The restoration really does make the colors pop, especially the browns of the hair and staff. Forgive my ignorance, and I did look at the full blogspot post, but when you're referring to "cel overlay" wit...

Re: Adventures in Restoring Faded Lines
Interesting, and congratulations on your success in making a new set of trace lines! I can think of a couple of reasons why the lines on the douga don't quite fit the cel. Possibly the sketch had once stuck to the cel, and the process used to unstick the two warped the paper. Or, since the douga lo...

Adventures in Restoring Faded Lines
The last few Friday nights I'd been taking my cel collection into school to use the big scanners to scan things... I wasn't able to do that tonight, so I had a go at fixing up one of my cels that had suffered line fading instead. I thought maybe someone might be interested in the adventure, so I set...

Re: Top Pegging a Gallery Revival
Welcome back! I gave you a wave when the Tennimon set-up went up, and enjoy the CCS additions. I can see, though, why the Samurai Pizza Cats cels give you the squealie fits, though. What bizarrely wonderful over-the-rainbow character design! :hippy it's great to see your renewed interest in your on...

Thank you! And yes, I do have more of them! Mostly Forte, but a bit of Ranpha and Milfeulle too. Hopefully I'll get a chance to scan the rest soon ^^HigurashiArchives wrote:Love the Galaxy Angel cels! Will you be posting anymore of them?

Top Pegging a Gallery Revival
Hola collector posse~ After a massive number of years of being a terribly neglectful cel collecting webmistress, I've decided to revive my gallery over on Rubberslug. It's probably going to take a while to get most of it up again (my old scans are small and bad, and I keep finding stuff I never scan...

Re: A curiosity
If you guys look between the two cels, you'll notice that the one on ebay is slightly different in the fact that Kikyo's hair is moving by the wind. This is even more apparent in the actual scene from episode 1 (go to exactly 1 minute in to see the scene): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Scq1tydQMj...
