Re: Otaku no Video

I got mine at the tail-end of last week too, Robert does a great job at managing these kickstarter/smaller projects, everything arrived quick and safe! OnV was a show that I loved way back when I first got in to anime, and I thought it would never get a proper BD treatment. So happy to be proven wro...

Re: Looking for parts of my old collection!

Good luck getting them back! I've gone on a few hunts for things I've sold off in the past, found a few, but never the ones I'd be VERY interested in picking up again.

Re: Random Question

You have douga correct (though I tend towards doh-gah), but "genga" would be pronounced with a hard G. Think "Ken", but "Gen". You can feed the japanese into translate.google.com to get a pronunciation approximation. Click on the speaker icon on the japanese side of the...

Re: Crowdfunding Rewards

Anything I back on kickstart, I'm prepared to never receive, I effectively treat is as disposable money/income. It's a very negative viewpoint, but it lets me sit back and not worry about individual projects. I've backed 17 projects so far, and received somewhere around 4. The projects I tend to bac...

Re: Cel Dealers at NYC Comic Con

Didn't see this before the con, whoops! There was at least one cel dealer there, who dealt primarily in US art. He had a few older anime cels (Guyver I think), but the majority of it was 70s-80s US stuff. There were some nice Winnie the Pooh things he had, including a rough sketch for some product, ...

Re: phpBB Spam prevention?

The bots hit my WoW guilds phpBB forum back in Feb. Recaptcha no longer was effective at keeping them out. I ended up switching from self-activated accounts to admin activated, since we hadn't had a valid NEW user in many months. I get lots of emails saying "<spammername> has registered!",...

Re: Lma333 Gallery

Oooo, nice Memories cel. I keep an eye out every so often for them, I've only seen a few Magnetic Rose sequences pop up with any regularity. There was one on mandarake not that long ago, I really, REALLY wish I hadn't forgotten about it and missed the ending!

Mandarake Big Web Auction is live!

They also updated their auction website interface for the first time in at least a decade. Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out how to get the Big Web Auction items AND only Cels. Can anyone figure it out? http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auction/item/itemsListEn.html?s=14&from=20140401&to=...

Re: Translation help?

VHS Tapes do not have region coding. There _ARE_ regional differences, but the differences between Japan and the US are very minimal, if any at all. I know that DVDs have a black level difference (JP uses 0-255, US uses 16-255), but I do not believe that these differences existed in VHS tapes. The r...

Re: VERY Expensive Super-Saiyan 4 Gogeta

I would guess he interpreted the A7 sequence marker of his cel to indicate there were only 7 cels in that sequence. Without having seen the the exact sequence, it's hard to say whether there are more than 7 cels in it. Given that it's not marked A7e, I'd guess that there are more, but who knows. He'...

Re: Seller with his own deputy l5ft4gw6k8

1) All biddings will be removed 3 minute before the finishing time. An item is re-listed automatically. However it means the latest top bidder won. Don't be worry. He contacts with a winner directly. So see the final moment of the auction. 2) Sometimes, he contacts directly before an auction finish...

Some great items in your listings, I think I'll have to go after at least one!
