Any master list for licensed anime?

My password has been weird for a while, so long time no hear. ^_^ While I have it working, I had a couple questions on my mind. (EDIT: Found the password change! ^_^) Second and actually anime related, I need more space in my house, so I want to replace a few big series I have only on VHS with DVDs....

Re: Mold on a cel/bg.

Oh, I've seen that site. It's definitely mold without question, though I'm not sure why it's been dormant for so long. I've just never been sure what to do about it.

Re: Mold on a cel/bg.

Another question I would love to hear input on. I have one cel in my collection which seems to have this problem. I'll try to link a closeup image below. The dark spots are not a fault of the scan, they are on the cel. Or rather, IN the cel, since they seem to have formed between the acetate and the...

Re: Need Advice Repairing Paper (gengas, layout, etc.)

Only you can decide how much effort you want to put into copies. My decision with regard to copies is more a flow chart of decisions. (1) How much do I particularly like the copy page? I'm not a fan of copies. Most of the time, the only value they have to me is informational. (Cut scene numbers/etc....

Re: Need Advice Repairing Paper (gengas, layout, etc.)

This looked like a crazy level of rough de-taping job you faced here. Nicely done! It's good to have experience removing tape -- something I sadly started much later than I should have with my collection. Sensei is a wealth of knowledge on it and I also remain grateful for the help I received on the...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee

Not knowing what the original seller's packages look like, it's hard to say, but I would imagine SMJ opens all packages to make sure the correct contents are inside and there was no error on the part of the seller. I never receive a shipping box inside my packages, if that's what you mean. Which is ...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee

I believe that is the normal course. I know I've had ones marked "Stored in Japan" before (actually, I do immediately now, so it's funny you ask this!) but I can't remember that happening often and when packages arrive to me from SMJ, they always have arrived by domestic US mail. I can't r...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee

When there is a wire transfer fee, it's really small. I don't even bother thinking about it when bidding. It's something like $2-$4? (I would have to look it up.) To answer your other questions: Yes, the automated system places your bid immediately, barring your internet lag. The only time this will...

Re: Bill submitted in Japan to stop sale and export of Anime art

Cutiebunny and LunaArt, you both just said everything I was about to say. (*LOL*) Anime art rarely seems to be treated like it's a national treasure by the look of some of the things I've received. Thankfully, there are exceptions. ^_^ I have more concern if the bill passes how that would effect wha...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee

I can't answer the Paypal question since I have a Paypal account. The way I see it, I do a lot of shopping online and most businesses accept Paypal now. By keeping a Paypal account, I can use my credit card all over the place and still only ONE online place has the actual number. Without Paypal, I w...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee

I pay them with Paypal because it's super simple, but I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest to let them charge my card directly. I think as long as you don't have any outstanding bids or payments due, etc, that you can request your deposit refunded at any time.... however I don't really know. You wou...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee

Personally, I adore Shopping Mall Japan. (http://www.shoppingmalljapan.com) I can bid live and any auction is only $4 fee if I win. You don't get a simpler fee structure than that. ^_^ Also, any time I've had a question or problem, the SMJ staff responds very quickly. I really can't recommend them m...

Re: What bothers you about this hobby?

What about the possibility that the volume of artwork produced for newer shows is just... almost nothing? It could be that it is almost all being done on computers now. Yes, this is a possibility too.... It could be almost nothing. Not sure how I would find out how much was drawn on the computer an...
