Re: Annual Cel Contest 2015!! - CHECK YOUR ENTRIES!!

Thanks for the hard work you've put in, Jadeduo; lookin' good! I may be a little late to the Fancel blip incident but I'd agree with the consensus that the single entry should be omitted. I nearly made the same mistake when I collated my images for submission so I understand it's easily done. Brilli...

Re: Anime-Beta Upgrades!

Thanks, I'll do that when I have the opportunity. Thought I'd just see if it's possible to extend the capacity but I appreciate that I've just been lazy. :^^:

Re: Anime-Beta Upgrades!

I wondered if it's possible to have a greater 'saved messages' allowance? I'm at the top of my 100 Inbox limit and don't really want to delete my old messages of the last decade- they're great to look over on occasions and are good points of reference.
Thanks for reading.

Re: "I knew EXACTLY what it was!"

Excellent thread, Sensei. Finds like this are among the most rewarding in this hobby. I enjoyed reading about your Unico adventure and I doubt few others could have worked that out! Anyone else happen on something in an out-of-the-way place or auction that you somehow immediately recognized as somet...

Re: Site Revamped

I think my favourite in your collection is the Ruin Explorers pan cel. Just brilliant! Good work with the coding of the new site, I imagine that was a tedious process but worth it for the fine results.

Re: Small update 10/17/15

Nice additions, I really like the Saxon sketch, even though I don't know the comic. His proportions are very cute. Extra special to get a drawing inside a book like this, I'm very happy for you! As for the Girls Bravo artwork, very nice! I'd call it a 'Blaster' from the past as it used to be in my c...

Re: Unknown cel...anybody know what it's from?

Yep, Imma Seiden. Although I can't recall the character's name (I haven't seen it for some years) I recognize the style because I used to collect from this series. Although inexpensive to acquire, I think it has very good chara design and the cels are often great condition. ^__^

Re: Show me. . .

A nice little feudal setup fits the bill; http://blueblade.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=109228 Please show me a group of samurai! [EDIT] Sorry for stagnating this topic, it's not been updated for a while and it's my fault for being a little too specific in subject choice. Instead, how ...

Re: Misadventures in Cel Collecting - Share Your Horror Stor

Owww, some serious moments there, folks. One that springs to mind was after buying a cel with matching (stuck) douga on eBay; the seller sent it rolled in a tube . Well, it was very crumpled and I wasn't at all impressed. It had cost me around US$100 equivalent at the time, would now be worth over $...

Re: To watermark or not to watermark, that is the question..

I've always watermarked my stuff... It just irks the crap out of me when people are so lazy as to take your images from a Google search and use it as they like without permission. Maybe it's a dying mindset, but I don't think it's very hard to ask to use something before taking. *shrugs* I was pret...

Re: Bringing Cel Collecting into the 21st Century and etc.

Sounds like a great project because this hobby is cool and needs to be represented online in a relevant, up-to-date way. Now, I'm not up on modern technology. Only got my first smart-phone and joined Facebook last year. BUT I see the importance of a site that encompasses modern social media at its c...

Re: Annual Cel Contest 2015!! - NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES!!

Okay so I got an interesting entry for Blood on the Ground my first instinct is to disqualify, but I would prefer to put it to the community as you will all be voting on this and I don't want to offend anyone. Yes, it is close to the mark. Has the hallmarks of a winner because it is extreme but I t...

Re: What draws you in?

I like to show a little bit of everything... And, while they might not all have had fluid animation, and some plots were much better than others, they all had a lot of style, and a great look that is showcased in the cels and other production art that remain. Yeah, I'd agree. To me, the 80's-late 9...

Re: Annual Cel Contest 2015!! - NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES!!

Ahhh, I made a cock-up (if you pardon the pun) regarding the hentai category. Having selected a genga I thought I was onto a winner but realised drawings aren't part of this contest! *bah* Back to the 'drawing board'... Rest assured I'll come with a hentai and fan cel submission along with my other ...
