Re: 2023 Year in Review & 2024 Cel/Sketch Resolutions
1. What was the best thing that's happened to your gallery/collection in 2023? I didn't do anything with my RS gallery... But, no one can upload any images now. 2. What was the most surprising thing that happened to your gallery/collection this year? Now, when I haven't updated my gallery... and no...

Re: 2022 Year in Review & 2023 Cel/Sketch Resolutions
1. What was the best thing that's happened to your gallery/collection in 2022? I didn't do anything with my Rubberslug gallery ... and that's pretty sad. However, I think there were a lot more affordable cels this year than there have been over the past few years. Also, the exchange rate has been p...

Re: Tempted to go for Naruto Genga | BWA
I also just use PayPal to pay for Mandarake now. However, when I did use a regular credit card, the CC would would just decline any charge from Mandarake. The steps I would go through were: 1. I would pay with the card. 2. It would be declined. 3. I'd call the card's fraud department. 4. Sometimes t...

Re: Tempted to go for Naruto Genga | BWA
I'm in Los Angeles, so I'm currently on Pacific Daylight Time, and it's 4:00 am for me. If you're on Pacific Standard Time, then I think you're one hour earlier, so you would be 3:00 am. You can set the time zone on the auction right under "Live Time", and check to make sure. The time is a...

Re: Tempted to go for Naruto Genga | BWA
My advice for bidding on the Mandarake BWA is... don't post your max bid here. 8O Most of your competition is going to stop by this forum, and now they know what to bid to outbid you. The only time this might work for you is when you post some insane number, and that might scare off some competition...

Re: Cel ID Help
Yeah. I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember that scene with Masako. It was a very pretty show, and the interaction between the leads was fun. I found out about it when I bought a cel of Kotetsu (I thought he was girl at the time) and went looking to find out what it was from. It had the kind ...

The girl on the left is Masako from the first episode of Yajikita.
I have a closeup from the same scene.

Re: How often do you hold back discussing "obscure" an
I didn't know The Humanoid had a novel. Antoinette's design was the best part of the show, so the still illustrations should look great. I did enjoy the the planet heading towards meltdown with the pop tune, "Power of Love" , playing... but, it would be interesting to know if there is an e...

Re: How often do you hold back discussing "obscure" an
I'm not sure I understood the narrative anymore towards the end of The Humanoid. But, I could definitely relate and understand its universal message and theme promoting the greatness of coffee. :coffee: I guess I hold back discussing obscure anime... But, that's only really because I usually don't h...

1. What was the best thing that's happened to your gallery/collection in 2021? 2. What was the most surprising thing that happened to your gallery/collection this year? I updated my Rubberslug page in May, and added some really great Amon Saga, Arslan Senki, Bastard, and Berserk cels. I have had ma...

Re: Question about correction layers for faded lines
You can definitely separate the linework in the pencil sketch. You'll want to do it with a higher resolution scan. But, as a proof of your concept, below, I just did a quick color selection, followed by some darkening and contrast of your sketch image above... and it's already almost there. Xanadu_m...

Re: Question about correction layers for faded lines
I'm no expert on making corrections layers... and, you can buy the same actual animation materials, like hole punched acetate, which were used to make these shows. I've made some correction layers just using what I had available. I had mylar sheets I cut down, and I taped everything in place using a...

Re: Why do some colors show up wrong on scanners?
I've been told it's the light source. Really old scanners used standard fluorescent bulbs, then they moved to Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL), and now they're LEDs. Each of these types of light behave differently, and different companies have literature to tell you why even among LED light sou...
