Re: What Do You Miss (And Not Miss) from The Good Ol' Days
I just saw this topic! I haven't been on AB that much these past few years, so I'm a bit late to the party. This year marks my 13th year at it & my activity has slowed waaaay down for most of the reasons that others here have already described. Availability - I had no idea at the time that I was...

Very cool idea! I like how you can pick up the whole thing and move it without bothering your cels. Thanks for posting this!

Re: removing stuck paper from a cel
I am super stoked to try this method as I have a few cels that are stuck to drawings. I've been too terrified to try anything with water for risk of destroying both. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Getting your collection insured
That's a good question. It's been a while now, but I think I asked about my cel collection being covered by the renter's insurance policy & the thought process was no, due to the value of what I wanted to insure. Since, I have had a separate art rider for it, which isn't very expensive (Note: I ...

Re: Getting your collection insured
If you use any online google products, maybe give google docs/spreadsheets a spin? I think you can save in excel format (if that is the format your agent requests) & it'll be online/in the cloud for whenever you want to make changes without having to buy a seat of Office. And you can do it from ...

Re: Getting your collection insured
I actually got mine insured through State Farm without an appraisal. I asked about an art rider for an artwork collection. The first agent I approached asked for a list of what I had paid for each and accepted my rubberslug gallery as an image list. When I moved to another city and got another agent...

Re: How do you like to keep track of your purchases?
I started keeping a spreadsheet when I first started collecting since I am a big, big nerd when it comes to numbers. I collected as much information as I could think of (how much, shipping, who from, URLs, email addresses, conversion rates, etc.) & have added fields over the years (and yes zero,...

Re: WHY did you buy your first cel/sketch?
Very interesting topic! It's really lovely to read others' stories about how they ended up getting into cel collecting and what keeps them coming back. Like JWR, my journey into the cel foray started at ComicCon 2002 - I'd just gotten my first non service industry job and saved to attend ComicCon, m...
