Re: What would you collect...

Well... for the most part, I do buy what I want... otherwise, I wouldn't buy it. The search is part of the... fun. :) However, in fantasy land where all things are possible, I'd definitely get the Akira cel with the background of Kaneda skidding sideways on his bike after playing chicken with the Cl...

Re: Real deal or...

With film processing, and different re-mastered editions and releases of an anime, I would say there can be a lot of differences between the image of a cel and a matching screen capture. There are differences even between multiple images taken of the same cel, depending on the equipment used i.e., s...

Re: What draws you in?

I like to show a little bit of everything... the very Asian folk tale look of classic 1960s anime like: Anju to Zushio Maru and Wanpaku Oji no Orochi Taji ; the brightly colored, iconic, heroic look of giant robot and super hero anime of the 1970s like: Ga-Keen and Casshan ; and even some of the coo...

Re: Something fun

http://lunacels.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=381656 This is a nicely posed and awesome action shot. The line of fire from her left hand really helps to give you the feeling that she's just whipped herself around. Her black hair flying up in the other direction gives a dark color for he...

Re: Your Collecting Journey part 2

Back when you first started your collection what were your goals? [/b] Initially, my goal was to own cels from my favorite anime, the late 1980s to early 1990s Guyver OVA. I had collected the Max Factory Guyver kits, and wanted more Guyver stuff. With a large universe of series out there what was i...

Taped to the back of an unrelated cel and background setup, this awesome drawing was used as a stiffener. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c95/GuyvarIII/extra_zps332df1dc.jpg Unfortunately, I don’t recognize what it is from. Also, I’ve got this Guyver genga: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c95/Gu...

I was afraid I was the last Guyver cel collector standing...

That’s a really great cel of Guyver 2. You can see the slice in his eye from Guyver 1.

Re: Happy Birthday, GuyvarIII!

Thank you, Sensei, Jadeduo, and KinoLRB for the Birthday well wishes!

I didn’t do too much…
But, I went out to eat, and got some Ramen to fight off Los Angeles’ suddenly cold weather, and was given a couple of great Go Nagai cels and Kurosawa’s Sanjuro on Blu-Ray.
