Re: How do you read a timing sheet?
I'm also trying to read a time sheet and while I can make bits and pieces of it due to the earlier posts, I'm still have difficulties. http://i.minus.com/ib05lo7piYKQvJ.jpg http://i.minus.com/i9HYYrFp3QENf.jpg What unit is the time in? Like seconds? Also does cut just mean that is the 323rd cut in t...

Re: Trying to differentiate types of gengas
Thank you for the source. Two quick questions remaining then. What is the difference between having the layer number completely circled compared to having only the number part of the layer number circled? For example A is not circled but 1 is. Also what does it mean if there is no number at all? I s...

Re: Trying to differentiate types of gengas
4. Shuusei or "Correction/Revision Sketch" - done on thin colored paper. These are also typically done by the animation director and usually are just simple details such as the contour of a character's chin or details in the eyes. But some directors are more fussy and work up these correc...

Re: Trying to differentiate types of gengas
Thank you for your help. So I've been reading through this thread: http://www.anime-beta.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=28815 So since they're all hand-drawn, how do you separate shuusei genga from roughs? Also is using paper-color, a solid indicator to tell if something is a douga or not? Like...

Re: Trying to differentiate types of gengas
By "machine-like" do you mean physically created by a machine ie. a photo copy or the asthetic of the drawing ie. traced, methodical /not free styled sketch work? I've never heard of any genga, corrections or douga being created by machine, unless it's a copy. Well it looks like I misunde...

Trying to differentiate types of gengas
So I have a sketch on yellowish colored paper that I'm trying to figure out whether it's hand-drawn or machine-like(similar to a douga I guess). I can't really inspect it at the moment due to being physically away from it and it's at the framers. I know that there are elements that are hand-drawn as...

Re: Is Madoka Japan(the website) legit?
Thanks. They just have a bunch of hand-drawn sketches and to be fair, that's highly unusual.

Is Madoka Japan(the website) legit?
So I'm seeing on their website, a lot of hand-drawn sketches and I'm wondering if anybody has had experience with them and can testify either way to the website's validity? Thanks.

Re: So I just won my 1st real Mandarake bid war
I remember one bidding war where it boiled down to me and this other dude and he came literally 1,000 yen short of my absolute hardlimit. So good.

Re: Translation request for physical note
Thank you both. Yea I did some background research and was able to isolate it to either 2005 or 2006. I can't take a photo or scan of it right now as I'm getting it framed however I did analyze it under a microscope and had an art professional look at it and we both agree that at the minimum, the co...

Re: Translation request for physical note
Thank you for all the help. The note above seems to not mention that it's a copy but also doesn't mention whether it's an original. The sentence that begins on the second line just states that it's a creator signed sketch. Now for the sketch itself, it's on a shikishi. By all accounts I can see penc...

Translation request for physical note
So I won a sketch in an auction and I'm trying to determine if the sketch is pre-printed or not, compared to it being an original, and it came with this note. I'm not great at Japanese(I can read and translate bits and pieces) and so I was wondering if anyone could help as I wouldn't be familiar with...

Re: Any way of telling if this is legit?
Since you mentioned that you've never seen anything authentic of Tony Takeuchi being sold, I figure I'd point this auction out to you - http://page17.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v246429553 It's currently at 602,000 yen, with four days left. That's actually Tony Taka not Takeuchi. I do see some ...
