Re: Dragonball Z Terebikko Cel

Now I see where your avatar comes from. I have to admit, personally I'm not a Dragonball fan. The interactive system you describe however is quite interesting. The 90's were a fine time for experiments in mixed media. In the middle of the decade, computers were just becoming capable enough to handle...

Re: New and Happy to be here!

Hello there. Welcome to the forum. Yes RubberSlug can be difficult at times, but considering it's age it's pretty impressive that it runs as well as it does. I like to post here chunks of my collection every so often, generally with fairly extensive commentary on the presented piece or pieces and ho...

Re: Scanning Cels?

One of the problems I come across with scanning is that typical home scanner/multifunction document handling device is not big enough to scan the whole piece. Usually 8 1/2" x 14" is about the largest you can find, and that's too short of the short side to get most animation art completely...

Re: What are Settei Sheets? Are they worth buying?

To that I would add that there might be some informational value in even the copy settei. If you're really into a show, and want to know how the characters were drawn you might find some interesting notes on them. Generally though, the original hand-drawn or holographic settei have the most notes. H...

Re: My First Cel - Little Nemo In Slumberland

Great cel! Looks like it's from a very active scene. The far right hand number is the sequence number. The cel is on layer "B". (Cels are often stacked up to form a scene, with the physical layers lettered starting from A at the bottom (or back) of the stack. I can't see what might have be...

Re: Douga Artist

A bit more information, the cutbag in DC's photo originally contained assets for Episode 24, Cut 206 of "Chrno Crusade [sic]."

By chance do you mean the "cut bag", DC?

Studios used to move assets like douga around in "cut bags", which were sort of like envelopes containing materials pertaining to certain sequences.

Re: New Member. Nice to meet you :)

Welcome to the forum. As to how to be involved, I guess that's something you have to work out for yourself. From time to time I post pieces, usually with lengthy article describing the piece, it's condition, and various other things about the piece and the series to which it belongs. You don't have ...

Re: Douga Artist

I'm not the most knowledgable person on the subject. Here's how I understand it. "Keyframe" douga are douga that are traced from keyframe "genga" and any desired corrections (or "shuusei") and guidance that may be supplied by the animation director for that series and e...

Mizuiro Jidai Ep. 18 - Kugayama-san Shows Her Feelings

I know it's been awhile since my last article. For the first article of the new year, I decided to revisit a title I haven't written about properly lately, Mizuiro Jidai . This article is about a character who isn't shown as much as one might expect her to be given her place in the plot. Forgotten A...

Re: Question about Japanese CD Packaging

Thank you for confirming that. I sort of thought that a properly new CD would have a hard seal that couldn't be reversed, but I didn't know for sure how things CD's were published in Japan. I like that Japanese sellers try to keep CD's clean. Lot's of times that isn't done in the States. It looks li...

Re: Rubberslug Up-or-Down Status

It appears RubberSlug is now down for the count. I'm getting "can't connect errors", and the traceroute log ends where it usually does, at Road Runner Communications in Texas from what I can tell. I'm guessing something in the server room, but not sure what. Jason, if you're reading this-T...

Re: What you collect that no one else collects?

Hmm.. I don't think I've ever come across anyone who collects YAT! Anshin Uchuu Ryoko. I used to think I wouldn't run across someone who collects Mizuiro Jidai , but it seems I just did. LOL I love the colors on those cels, by the way. I can tell you a bit about the boy featured in this cel-- http:...

Re: Question about Japanese CD Packaging

Thank you for working that out Ginta. It's kind of funny. The collector in me would rather it had been new in a way, but the part of me that wants to analyze and comprehend would rather it be used-as long as it isn't damaged that's fine. Being used, I can open it and study the contents without signi...
