Re: Where to host my artwork?

I sent a message to rubberslug. I was a bit reluctant seeing as how what I'm doing is sort of out of their line, but it they give the thumbs up, might be the simplest option. Google insisted on putting a gimmick user interface over my pics, and didn't want me to access unscaled versions. Why is it s...

Re: Where to host my artwork?

I've done a bit more research, and I think I've found a solution for the time being. It's not perfect, but I'll give it a shot.

Stay tuned.

Re: Need Help Authenticating Genga

Hello, jiangdc. The ep6 one seems to me like a Sakurai sketch. Check whether there is some sort of (村) or (桜) in the timesheet (if there is one). I haven't seen a time sheet. Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with Mr. Sakurai. Hold on a sec. (pulls up the English credits roll) Oh okay, Anim...

Re: Where to host my artwork?

As I'm new to animation collecting, I don't really have much of anything production wise yet. I'm afraid at this point it would mostly be fanart.

Where to host my artwork?

I was wondering where to find some good places to host my own artwork. It's not necessarily original art though. My understanding is that rubberslug is mainly for production artwork. I used photobucket for awhile, but they got greedy and started wanting money for a lot of things that were free at on...

Re: Question about Headgear and Cel Layering

I think I understand what your saying. I have sometimes found in my own experiences in still graphic work that it is not always simplest, or even feasible to stack elements in their apparent visual z-order. Sometimes it is less trouble to just not draw hidden overlapping parts. In more recent years,...

Question about Headgear and Cel Layering

I've been wondering something about cels. From what I read here, cels are often layered together to build a single shot, which I guess could be considered a form of compositing. What I was wanted to know is, are accessories worn on the head such as hats and glasses drawn directly onto the cel with t...

Re: Need Help Authenticating Genga

I think production art is really neat. I really like the under-the-hood aspects of animation, though I admit I do sometimes feel overwhelmed by the technical terms of art generally, not just animation. It's just so interesting to think "This drawing once sat on a desk in a studio half way aroun...

Re: Hello, all.

I'm just starting out in animation collecting. I don't really know how deep into it I'll get. I figure classic Disney and such would be well out of reach were I to look that direction, for example. Most of of my stuff is video games and related to this point. Mario is my favorite video game characte...

Re: Need Help Authenticating Genga

I understand about no formal authentication, as I mentioned in my intro post. I didn't mean to imply I was looking for such here. It's almost impossible to formally authenticate such things without someone originally involved dealing with it. I actually tried something of a formal route. I got up my...

Re: Hello, all.

Thank you :)

I understand about this not being formal authentication. I placed a more detailed reply over in the related Technical Cel Q&A thread.

Need Help Authenticating Genga

I could use a bit of help. I'm looking at some genga drawings for sale, purportedly from the series "Azumanga Daioh: The Animation". To me they look right, and I've been able to match some of them with scenes in the show. I am not an animation collectibles expert however, and I'd like some...

Hello, all.

Hello. I enjoy both Western and Japanese animation, as well as 3D video games. While I consider myself a fan of the anime style, I'm a bit picky about what I watch. I actually got my start in anime from video games with Japanese voice acting. I also am interested in voice acting/actors (both Western...
