Re: Payment's time limit
Mandarake should declare a low value. Been a little while since I won something from there but I've emailed them in the past just to confirm that they put no more than X value on the customs document. I got a reply once that they always put a low value but ours in the UK is terribly low and it got e...

Re: Fake Ranma 1/2 OP Cel?
SPIKECOWBOY appears to be both a collector and seller. We've bid against each other in the past for a variety of series but he likes the full head-shots and does like Ranma cels. I'd be inclined to think he's legitimate but the cels definitely look different if they're both supposed to be the same s...

Re: When A Fellow Collector Ignores You Or Leads You On
Ah, this scenario rings a bell. :D The most memorable scenario for me was a few years back when someone said they had obtained something for me and kept making up excuses for not scanning it (when they regularly updated their gallery with scans). Eventually a similar item to what they described appe...

Re: Beware of seller : Venez-par-ici
That's a lucky escape, Zerospace. I presume the seller gave a partial or full refund before the case was escalated to Ebay? Ebay would probably have decided in your favour anyway but they usually require the item to be returned to the seller via trackable means in order to get a refund. At least tha...

Re: Beware of seller : Venez-par-ici
Hm.. is that tape on the actual background and cel directly? If so, that's rather shocking.
Did you email the seller directly to suggest a better way to send their cels? Usually knowledge is the most important thing if they're willing to listen and change their methods.

Re: Cel Book Question.....
I wasn't sure if they sold this brand in the US but I did some Googling and it appears they're available so thought I'd throw the name out there. I use a Daler Rowney brand portfolio how you described for my poster collection.

Re: Medical Problems and Anime Cels?
Since I mentioned narcolepsy in an earlier post, I probably did have a form of it before I trained myself to sleep with my eyes closed. Up until the age of about 9 or 10 I used to sleep with my eyes open. When I was tired, I just used to see darkness and it was like my consciousness was switched of...

Re: Medical Problems and Anime Cels?
Ack those kinds of reactions are scary! I don't profess to know everything about environmental factors, only what I've learnt from other people but I've definitely been warned about chemical reactions in cleaning products. The big one for me to try and control is electromagnetic radiation which is s...

Re: Medical Problems and Anime Cels?
That's a great point actually, Eternal Wind. I have a wheat (not all gluten) and dairy intolerance so I've been gradually cutting that down. Wheat especially can make you bloated and give you joint pain, headaches, etc, if your body doesn't like it. The brain fog is very annoying though, I remember ...

Re: Medical Problems and Anime Cels?
I empathise with the hand pain, magnesium is my life saver or I'd probably be an arthritic mess lol! The cold weather doesn't help one bit either. Sorry to hear about the chronic pain though, that kinda thing is horrible. I live with excessive tiredness, it's hard to explain to people when you say y...

Re: How do you get your friends interested/excited for cel?
My wife and find articles on 550 original ways to save money very humorous. Most of these are already part of our daily routine. For example: "Brown bag a lunch instead of eating out every weekday at a restaurant or fast-food outlet." Did that for 30 years. Or "Limit your visits to S...

Re: How do you get your friends interested/excited for cel?
I think all my hobbies/interests over the years have fallen into the geeky category and I get used to hiding that kinda stuff away from others. I no longer see it as anything to be embarrassed of though and if I'm asked about it, I'll gladly talk about it. I remember back at school I was the only on...
