Could someone maybe volunteer to be a cel pit bull and watch what people are doing rather than look at cels? I have bad dreams about people slipping cels out of the cel book pockets when I'm distracted, and me not realizing it until much later.

Rozen Maiden. 12 episodes, creepy (porcelain doll comes alive and possesses teen owner story line), psychopathic (both the doll, the owner, and the owner's ditzy sister have serious, diagnosable mental disorders), and often extremely funny at the same time. Let me ditto Hellsing. 13 episodes that wi...

A teensy vote for Gankutsuou, the Japanese rethinking of The Count of Monte Cristo set in a dystopian futuristic Paris (with trips to the Moon, hyperspace, inner space, virtual space, etc. etc.). Amazing fusion of cel-type and video-game-type CG animation, and a great plot! Great music (by The Stran...

I'm actually not sure any more how many I have. I know I have just over 400 individually displayed items in my RS gallery, but many of them are gengas, and quite a few are parts of a single sketch set. I'd guess around 200-250. I lost count when I went from 4 cel books to 8 rather suddenly about thi...

Many congratulations, Baakay! I remember from better days being able to work in a center like this (for Hawthorne, though most of the materials were copied from other, more impressive archives). The nice thing is that after you work with the actual day-to-day materials, you eventually get a sense of...

Guy walks into a bar in the Yukon and orders a drink. Everyone in the place turns and glares at him silently. After a moment, the bartender explains, "Sir, this is the toughest bar in the Klondike. To prove you're worthy of staying here, you have to pass the Yukon Test of Manhood to prove that ...

What do you need to know? The dealer's room is in a football-field-sized arena that is normally packed shoulder-to-shoulder with cosplaying young people trying not to bean each other with fake swords, wands, foam rubber waffles, etc. There's usually a big crush in front of the Anime Asylum booth cau...

Haggling: OK or not OK?

I'm posting this to get some feedback on several odd (odd to me, anyhow) exchanges I've add with people who list cels as "for offer." I should say that none of these exchanges were odder than any other, so if what I say seems to apply to another Beta member, please be assured that I am not...

Thanks for all the history and background. I was just wondering if when we got to some exalted status (like Kamisama) that we could then choose our next incarnation. I don't want to jump to a status level I don't deserve, but would just like some input in where I go from here. Token' Lady :pimp soun...

On the whole, I'd go with the 5 wishlists. However, as people who have visited my gallery, I also like sequences (e.g., the scene in which Sakura captures The Fly). But, frankly, I collected these because they were cheap (at least two were freebies thrown in by dealers) and more interesting as a set...

More variety in status levels?

How can one change one's status level description (the thing that appears just under your name)? I understand the need for "newbie" for first posts, but I'm uncomfortable with "Kami-sama," which doesn't at all feel right for my personality or my real status. I'm less a "god&...
