Re: Show me. . .
http://www.tarakatsuki.com/human-58-trapped Show me somebody with a big crazy grin. Is it okay if I go again this soon? I was thinking about this request. Let's see, big, crazy grin.... Then, it hit me like a bolt of lightening. One of the biggest, craziest grins I've ever seen. https://www.youtube...

Re: Need Advice Repairing Paper (gengas, layout, etc.)
Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. Sensei is a wealth of knowledge on it and I also remain grateful for the help I received on the same subject when I started. ^_^ Couldn't have said it better myself. This looked like a crazy level of rough de-taping job you faced here. Nicely done! It's ...

UPDATED: Animation Director's Genga Set
I'd been wanting something like this for some time, but I went back and forth on this particular Sakkan no Genga. I didn't really like the concentric lines around the characters. Ultimately however, the little girl with pigtails won me over, along with the other sheets in the set. I tried to decide ...

Re: Bill submitted in Japan to stop sale and export of Anime art
Are these strictly American animators that come to Animazement? (That is, those who work for American studios), or do they come from Japan and Europe as well?
Do voice actors show up too?

Re: Bill submitted in Japan to stop sale and export of Anime art
Thank you, it's very kind of you to invite me. :) I doubt I get to come though, I don't really get to travel much. I don't think I've been more than 100 miles from home in a year and half going on two. I have a second cousin who goes to conventions sometimes, but her tastes in animation are differen...

Re: Not What I Thought (Several Pictures)
NOTE: It's actually YOSHIZUMI Wataru, to this day Japanese names still get me from time to time. At first, I was pretty sure this was for the movie, as the dialogue I can decipher seems to mostly match the finished movie. Now that you've mentioned a drama cd though, there is a possibility that they ...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee
UPDATE: I've written up a lengthy post on what I won from YJ. I didn't say anything about what it was here partly because I had a far less clear picture of what I had until yesterday.

Not What I Thought (Several Pictures)
This is my first item purchased through a deputy, ShoppingMallJapan. The one picture the seller had was of the front, and it wasn't the best in the world-I couldn't make out every detail of. It seemed like the right thing to try. If it was indeed something special, fantastic. If not, it seemed it wo...

Re: Need Advice Repairing Paper (gengas, layout, etc.)
Sounds like a wild story, and rather difficult to keep up with. Incidently, I hope it's okay, I gave a shout out to you on the RS page in which I presented this layout. I've got another genga-like piece that I should work on soon. It's a photocopy, but it came with a genga set, and has tape all over...

Re: Bill submitted in Japan to stop sale and export of Anime art
No. Things start to improve once you become a key animator, and then get vastly better once you become a character designer, animation director or someone else higher up in the production chain. I kind of thought it might be that way, but I've learned not to assume anything in animation. That's why...

Re: Is there any easy way to combine several different layer in terms of gif making?
I acutally I would think there should be an open source video editor for OSX, if I remember correctly, it's based on Linux, though it doesn't use KDE. Look for one with GIF support. I'm afraid I can't recommend one though. I have a Mac G3 that was broken when I got it, I've never gotten around to tr...

Re: Thinking about Trying YJ/Buyee
UPDATE: The auction item arrived safely today. I haven't given the item a thorough inspection yet, but it looking it over, it looks like like it is in the same condition as when it left SMJ. I do like that SMJ shipped it in a box, with little air packs protecting it-all of my orders direct from Japa...

Re: Bill submitted in Japan to stop sale and export of Anime art
Oh wow, I didn't realize things were that bad. I guess maybe I should have considered it a possibility.
Is this going on at all levels of animation in Japan? For example, are the Animation Directors treated this way, too?

Re: Bill submitted in Japan to stop sale and export of Anime art
I didn't know animators in Japan were poorly paid.
I'm not so sure a law would fix things, though. The credits of certain more recent anime suggest outsourcing of large chunks of the work to Korea, or possibly even China! Here I thought only American studios did that.
