Re: Where did we all go?
I am lurking around. Nothing on the threads that make me want to post. But I check the forum almost everyday. It's my solace at the end of a tiring work day :) Haven't bought much this year, the selection on the market is less but I wouldn't go as far as saying there's completely nothing I want. Whi...

Re: 2011 Anime Beta Sketch Awards Rules & Info
Congrats to all the winners! I'm happy to win something, thanks to all who voted. :D A BIG thank you to the organisers for their great work! They took the initiative and their own time to make this happen. And it's not an easy job because you can't please everyone. The cheating case aside, this year...

A great cel on so many levels - it shows multiple views of long-haired Akane (which is rare) and it's an A1-End

Welcome to beta! I enjoyed browsing through your gallery, so many nostalgic artwork from my fave childhood series. Looking at your Gummi Bear artwork, I even started to sing the song aloud

Re: right way to store cel's stapled to the matching backgro
I buy from bagsunlimited too. For bigger backgrounds and cels, I cut and combine the bags together. I just buy one size 11 inches x 14 inches.
I scan them just once, high res, before bagging them or it will be too much trouble later. Happy archiving your collection!

Re: right way to store cel's stapled to the matching backgro
I take out the staples slowly (with fingernails or back of stapler), and bag the cel and the background in different sleeves. For the cel, I cut one side of the sleeves off to let the cel breathe. Then I attach bagged cel to front of bagged background with archival tape and store them in a folder. W...

Re: When you start questioning the basic...
Thanks for sharing that article. I have learnt much from it, especially about the history of animation. Polypropylene and polyethylene have many grades, I use the archival grade and so far things seem ok. They do get 'cloudy' after a while so I change them when that happens. Besides choosing the rig...

A pretty cel of human Inuyasha with the matching original background to boot! Love it when they come with complete set-up including layouts and other sketches.

Wow very pretty! But on my hands, they prob won't last too long. Still, hope I can try calgel one day. Unlike other parts of the body, I can admire art on my nails any time (e.g. during boring talks or meetings).

Re: Artwork is artwork, and we all love our artwork
Congrats on such a beautiful piece of original artwork! I can understand why you won't ever sell it, esp since it was customised for you with a friend's help. It has a big sentimental value for you. While there are many cels and sketches that would pain me greatly to sell them, there is nothing I wo...
