Re: 2020 Year in Review & 2021 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

Best thing : Finished the inventory! Now I know (with 99% accuracy) what I've got and where to put my hands on it. Surprising thing : the market rather suddenly picked back up in the summer, and I was able to put together three substantial updates in 2020. On the other hand, even with the enforced ...

2020 Year in Review & 2021 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

It's time for the YoR/Resolution thread! I began this post back in 2006, and with the help of Cutiebunny it's become a Rubberslug tradition for more than a decade. Now it returns for its 15th year. With the old year thankfully wrapping up, it's time to look back on its low (and infrequent high) poin...

Re: Is anyone else having issues with Rubberslug?

Rubberslug was behaving normally this morning (Tuesday, October 7) with all gallery images showing and the Account pages loading quickly and without errors. Jason suspects one issue is the slower access speed to the server that now is dedicated to the site, which is located at his home. If problems ...

Re: Is anyone else having issues with Rubberslug?

I was able to do some basic maintenance on Friday, changing the banner, background, and featured cel/sketch. But there is a persistent problem with images loading, particularly those that were uploaded during the earlier days of RS. In such cases, the page lists as loading, but the process never ter...

Re: Twenty Years!

The other interesting thing I would like to bring up is a cel of Nadeshiko. I also found the rest part of this sequence in your gallery as well (Oh man, you just have everything on Sakura). This was a very sentimental episode and I had the memory on most part of this episode except this scene, whic...

Re: Twenty Years!

Not for my first anime art purchase, but my first cel is also on Sakura. I got it from Mandy a little bit more than 4 years ago. Later when I joined the group, Jade helped me identified the episode. I rewatched Sakura yesterday night to trace some of my cels and finally I was able to get the clips ...

Twenty Years!

I'm celebrating the twentieth anniversary of my first cel. https://hosting.photobucket.com/albums/v737/sense1/Cel%20gallery/Featured%20cels/.highres/redrabbitsad.jpg That was won (on eBay) the morning of July 20, 2000, when I was off touring college campuses for my high-school-senior daughter. (She ...

Re: Anyone else currently in this situation?

I should note that I had Rinkya recently ship me my goods using FedEx Priority. It took them about two weeks to ship it after my request, but they were good about including in the package lots that I'd won since my shipping request and which arrived at their warehouse before the box was ready to go....

Re: Hello

I know several collectors who have been enticed by the dolfie world and are no longer active, so it's nice to get one back this time. I grew interested in anime around 1999, thanks to my teenaged daughter (now all grown up and being an info director for a boarding school in Hong Kong) who was watchi...

Re: Where is a good source of cel storage bags?

I use Bags Unlimited, which also sells MicroChamber paper in various sizes and quantities. My choice is the "Large Life Magazine" aka "Large Sheet Music" size, which is exactly the right size for a standard TV-series sized cel (wide end in first) or a standard background (narrow ...

Re: Is anyone else having issues with Rubberslug?

Rubberslug has been reported as being offline. Attempts to access the site lead to an unending "hang" with no error message. Jason has been contacted and is checking on the problem.

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

Rinkya is operating normally. (Except for shipping which is not their fault but that of the USA for having become Plague Central of the globe.) They had a bad time late last year when they had to move their whole operation on short notice (including their warehouse facilities) but since January I ha...

Re: Is anyone else having issues with Rubberslug?

I message him on Facebook, which he uses often. If you visit the FB group "RubberSlug & AnimeBeta" you will see his posts ("Jason Nolasco") and then you can click on his name and send a message. (Might have to friend him first; he doesn't bite or send spam.) Good luck!
