Re: YJP Counterfeit Sellers
It would be benificial except for the fact that I know of no one selling counterfeit or fake pieces. :shrug That could be because I don't collect from Evangelion or any of Mayazaki's works, but who knows. I think that like many things in the cel community, this is a small problem that has been blown...

Re: Best Scanners for Scanning Cels?
You're definitely right about the typical standard-sized scanners. I remember cursing about the Canon LiDE scanner that I used for a short while. We had an old HP scanner years and years ago that worked great until its unfortunate death, but that Canon was terrible. FWIW, the oversized Epson scanner...

Re: Anyone see the Eva cels on Mandrake this week?
YES!!!
O_o
There was a time when one of those was on my wish list. I never ended up collecting from Eva but never imagined that I'd see that cel in my lifetime either.
I think I'll just look and imagine.

Re: Current State of the Market
The market has... well... changed. Best I can tell, a number of collectors stopped collecting and the collectors who replaced them may not collect the same things. What I mean is a show like Burn Up may not have many active collectors right now whereas a show like Dirty Pair Flash is getting a bit m...

Re: The closing of the Anime Cel Collectors facebook group
Not a member of the FB group and not interested in being one... so I can't speak to whatever it was that happened there. Having said that, lots of folks in the cel community act as if this stuff is life and death. It isn't. Good for you for recognizing that a leadership role wasn't making you happy ...

Re: New eBay listings!!
A few more items got listed today, including a hanken from Oni Coach / Demon Coach, a nice piece from Armitage III and a few other items. There are a couple of adult listings this time around, so please keep in mind you'll have to accept eBay's terms for that section if you want to see the items.

Re: Best Scanners for Scanning Cels?
+1 for the large format Epson scanners. They definitely are worth the money both for the fantastic colour rendering and for the ability to scan larger items.

Just have to say again... Really nice!
I had liked the old design, too, but the redesign is really something! Definitely a lot of fun to look through!

Re: Angelic-Lair.com 2016 update!
Hope everyone is doing well! I managed to get another update ready before the end of 2016. A lot of site tweaks and cleanup here and there but there are also some great new pieces in Marine A Go-Go and Angel Blade (both adult shows, so I won't be providing direct links here :D ) Ikenie is back up (a...

New eBay listings!!
Hey everyone! Started another round of collection cleanup. Series currently on the chopping block include: Betterman, G Gundam, Shamanic Princess, Sorcerer Hunters and a few original handwritten manga/shikishi-related items. There's still some Cardcaptor, Tenjho Tenge and Queen's Blade items floatin...

Re: Damaged / Curling Cels
Pan cels can curve sometimes. As long as the cel isn't bent/creased, we don't usually consider it "damaged" unless the curving is really severe and the obvious result of poor handling/shipping. If it was a piece that I liked, I would probably just bid normally, especially if it's a nice sc...

If it was Big Web then you had to pay the registration. If you didn't register (and pay to do so) then your big web bids won't count.

Re: Removing severely yellowed tape... opinions?
The dry residue might be creating additional reactions through contact, but it's hard to say how much effect it's having. If you want to do the absolute best job possible, you might want to consider removing the residue but if the paper has burned already it might not have an appreciable effect.
