Re: Storing an enormous panoramic cel
Hi congrats on the lovely cel. I actually saw that up for auction for a while and thought it was gorgeous. They really went all out making that cel. Thanks!! It's from episode 3 of Lemon Angel, "Urban Angel." It's basically a 3-minute music video, and it has a lot of really pretty cel wor...

Re: Storing an enormous panoramic cel
Thanks guys! This is really helpful. I'll have to wait until the cel arrives to get the exact dimension, but I'll probably go with the Gaylord archival box since I strongly suspect the cel is more than 24" long. I'll also be sure to check out Bagsunlimited!

I searched for archival boxes, do you think something like this would be good? https://www.gaylord.com/Preservation/Do ... p/HYB02323

Re: Why do some colors show up wrong on scanners?
That's a $230 scanner, I'm absolutely not paying that much right after buying a brand new scanner just to get slightly better scans. And no, the overwhelming majority of the cels in my collection didn't cost that much.
Please stop pushing this, it's starting to get on my nerves.

Storing an enormous panoramic cel
I just won an auction for a multi-layer pan cel, but I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to store it. I don't know the exact dimensions yet, but this thing is enormous. I had to splice together 2 of the seller images to show the full length. It also has hand-inked lines and airbrushing, not sure if t...

Re: Why do some colors show up wrong on scanners?
I'm definitely not buying a new scanner, I just bought a brand new one a month ago that I had to drive 1.5 hours to pick up after returning another one that was defective.

Re: Cel ID
Thank you! I'll have to give it a watch.
Ha, guess it was either total coincidence, or this is one of those Easter Egg references.

Cel ID
I just won this in an auction listed as "unknown anime." When I bid on it, I was 99% certain it was Tomo from Lemon Angel, but I can't find this scene anywhere. I guess it could still be from Lemon Angel - again, this looks *exactly* like Tomo, just with a slightly different hairstyle - bu...

Re: noildoof's (aka Migrator's) Cels
Recent haul! I got the first three from Yann of Animanga, great guy to do business with. lemonangel.png Tomo from Lemon Angel in a scifi-fantasy warrior getup. Lemon Angel is kinda odd, each episode is only 3-4 minutes long and there's no real plot. Some episodes are romance/drama, some are scifi or...

Re: Old cancelled anime?
Oh man, those look awesome! I've actually heard of Warrior Nun Areala before, years ago I saw an action figure in a comic book store. I always thought it was just a comic series, never knew it was supposed to get an anime. It makes me kind of sad to know that there will never be another anime with t...

Old cancelled anime?
I've been curious about cancelled titles from the era of cel animation ever since Kenny Lauderdale's video on Kamen Senshi Lavithunder. I've only ever heard of one other title like that where promotional material got released but the actual anime was canned, and it was an adaptation of the Lemon Peo...

Re: Question about correction layers for faded lines
Do not make your correction layer from the douga or clean up sketch, your lines will be slightly off. Having the sketch is good for reference, but put the plastic sheet over the cel and work from that. Also, if you use the same materials as me, know that it takes about a day for the pen lines to dr...

Question about correction layers for faded lines
I got this nice Xanadu cel not long ago, unfortunately it has moderate line fading. However, it came with the matching sketch, so making a correction layer wouldn't be too difficult. Is there a specific type of transparency I should use to make it? Also, can it go directly over the cel, or would it ...

noildoof's wishlist
Some of this stuff I've been looking for a long time, others are more recent. I'll list them in order from most to least wanted. I've been looking for cels of Samy from Superdimensional Romanesque Samy: Missing 99 for years, and I've never seen a single one. I have a set of copy settei, so if that e...
