Re: Anyone else currently in this situation?

I received my package that had been stuck in Japan since March on Friday after it was returned to Mandarake. Mandarake then sent it to me via DHL at no additional cost despite my offer to pay for it, and that was super fast. I recommend going the DHL route if you have that option.

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

Do you collect backgrounds from series other than CCS? I've been wanting to get some from Sci-fi animes, wondering if they crop up often I have a lot of backgrounds from Kobato and some backgrounds from various other series like Chihayafuru, but I don’t look for backgrounds as much as I used to sea...

Re: Anyone else currently in this situation?

I believe that SAL and EMS were shutting down before the announcement. I had something sent via SAL towards the end of March that the seller notified me has just been returned. They’re giving me the option of having it sent via DHL which is fine, but it took about a month for them to return it to th...

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

I feel like that'll happen to me eventually but with shikishi. Whenever I see them, I don't feel the urge to buy them anymore after seeing pages and pages of pretty cels. I think it depends on what you're looking for and how picky you are. At least, that's the case with me. There's a lot of artists...

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

I used both the Japanese terms and whatever SMJ had preloaded, so I would check for the same thing under a couple different variations. I found that each search yielded different results, so I liked being able to run multiple checks for the same thing and see different items. I probably spent a lot ...

Re: 2019 Year in Review & 2020 Cel/Sketch Resolutions

Since I joined, I've been reading a lot of past threads and the yearly resolution ones. I recall reading someone's transition from cels to shikishi. I think that's how it usually is lol. In my case though, I have only collected shikishi and now I want to start collecting cels. Is that weird? :-P Pr...

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

I've been using both Buyee and Zenmarket. I prefer Zenmarket simply because the fees are a lot cheaper. Buyee's shipping fees are extremely high. I honestly don't mind paying upfront to bid on an auction. It's just like having a deposit with the older deputy services; You place a deposit and if you ...

Re: Invoice Issues

Thanks for the response. I tried e-mailing the support e-mail again, so I'm really hoping that someone responds to my e-mail. I've bought from Mandarake off and on again for well over a decade and have never had this issue.

Invoice Issues

Has anyone, particularly if you won an item in the recent BWA, had issues when it comes to checking out with the won item? I won a BWA item and received the winning notification. However, when I try to check out, the item is not in the “Place Order” section nor does it even show that I won or bid on...

Re: Con's canceled or delayed Corona Virus

Sakura-Con has not been cancelled. Last I looked, it was still scheduled. Some guests have cancelled, but the convention has not. The SakuraCon website has been updated. My friend was bringing over one of the guests, so I figured that when he announced it in group chat, the con had also announced i...

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

Yeah, I'm going to have to go through all my invoice e-mails now. I don't ever remember seeing an e-mail along the lines of "SMJ is changing its deposit rules...we're applying your previous deposit to your invoice." If I had, I would not be questioning this.

Re: Is Shopping Mall Japan dead?

I heard back, but now I'm being told that from the records that he downloaded from the server prior to him closing it, I never had a deposit. I was able to go through my e-mails back to 2007 showing that yes, indeed, I had paid for a significant deposit via Paypal and that allowed me to bid past 400...

^ I'm in the same boat. I e-mailed but haven't heard back yet. Looks like the website is completely gone.
