Re: Anime-Beta Annual Cel Contest 2016!!!

I would love a cel category for cels with just kids (10 and under).

Can't wait to participate this year! Already trying to figure out how I'm going to get these cels scanned in. :)

Re: For offer/sale

I'm curious to see the Ashita no Nadja stuff. One of my favorite series in college. :)

NANA Anime Layouts / Douga

I'm trying to find some nice (relatively inexpensive -- I love Midori's NANA hanken, but I can't afford them right now) art from the NANA anime for my own collection -- and to surprise a friend who also collects. Anyone paring down on their collection, or can direct me where I can find some? (I do k...

Ack, did I miss your Escaflowne cel? What did you sell?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it! I'm going to signal boost it for you! :) I know at least one person in the fandom that's a movie diehard, so maybe this will be up her alley!

Re: What bothers you about this hobby?

This. 100%. I absolutely cannot stand this particular seller. In the past, he/she has actually outbid me only to list something on eBay at 1000% markup (and even now, years later, most of those cels are still on eBay...). Indeed. It is pity bad sellers like urbantreasurehunterjapan cannot be stoppe...

Augh, that copy layout has that 3 quite readable there! Thank you for the heads up! :)

Re: What bothers you about this hobby?

^ That might be because they might have paid a high amount or because they might be selling that cel on commission. There's one particular seller that was selling CCS cels on commission for a Japanese collector, and he priced those cels at what that person wanted + small commission. In the case of ...

[RGU] Need Help Identifying Wakaba

It's been awhile since I've done an Utena re-watch, so I need some help identifying where these layouts came from. I'm fairly sure they came from episode one. Some look like they're of Wakaba on Utena's back, and another looks like it's when Wakaba sees her letter tacked on the board. Can anyone con...

Re: What bothers you about this hobby?

I think part of this hobby dying is the fact that many people are unwilling to accept the fact that their pieces are worth less than they originally paid. I know many people (dealers included) who would rather sit on a cel until it disintegrates than lower their asking price. There are many nice pi...

Re: What bothers you about this hobby?

It pains me that the hobby is all but dead as a dying star, flickering in and out of sight. The side effect of this, more than ever, is that many who have such wonderful pieces of art cease to talk about or acknowledge them again publicly. Outside of the maybe 5-10 percent of collectors who have an...

Re: Oniisama E Framed Art / Copy Storyboards (AnimeSols Reward)

Oh wow, I definitely wouldn't have thrown $400 for a print, even one framed like this, so I probably thought the same thing as you: original illustration, something actually hand-drawn by the artist. Is there actually a legit signature on the print, or is that a copy as well?

Oniisama E Framed Art / Copy Storyboards (AnimeSols Reward)

I'm sifting through a bunch of things from a move earlier this year and found a framed piece of Oniisama E art that I got from donating to AnimeSols (probably for set three, when I was desperate to make sure that we got the final DVD set) and a set of copy storyboards (mine's from episode 32). Obvio...

Re: Damaged / Curling Cels

This is the cel in question: http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b218721677 I'd consider the damage fairly significant -- at first glance, i thought it was two cels because the curvature was so extreme. Anyone have any thoughts on this cel in particular? I know there's another collector in ...
