You don't have to vote in Hentai or any of the OPTIONAL CATEGORIES if you don't want lol... Although all standard categories have to be voted in by entrants ^_^

Last year I had 37 voters, so I would love to beat that number!!! We'll make that a goal!! Any new voters?! ^_^

Just realized I clean up my cel images in photo editors, like paint issues, brightness, etc. Is that ground for disqualification?

No, normal editing like brightness/overexposure edits and removing dust from the scan are allowed. What you would normally do to clean up an image to be posted on RS is generally fine. I know when I scan most of my scans come out overexposed so I have to make adjustments in photo editor sometimes to bring the color back, although this mostly affects my sketches it will sometimes affect cels.

The RS site is not ready yet I will post here when it is.

Whoever was voting this afternoon between 230PM EST and 245PM EST and not putting in their Anime-Beta User IDs your votes will not be counted they have been cancelled so you can go back in and vote but make sure you put your USER ID in the little box so I can keep track of who has voted and who has not!

Bad news...

Okay so I feel like I'm too young to be disappointed in anyone so, I am letting everyone know what happened and what I am going to do about it.

The site is done, however in putting it together, I discovered accidentally that one of the entries in Monochrome that was slated to win the bronze is an OP cel. I found this out because I could not find the entrants e-mail with their entries so I went to check the entrants RS (I was pretty sure it was this person but had to make sure!) and found the cel, it is listed as an OP cel in their gallery. I would NOT have found this out unless I had done this, because it was a series I am not familiar with.

Per the rules OP/ED/Eyecatch are NOT allowed in any other category than OP/ED/Eyecatch!!! It is very clearly stated in rules as well as the list of categories where it says exactly what types of cels are allowed.

I run the contests based on the honor system. It is disheartening to me that this is the second such "mistake" that I have come across this year. I spend an obscene amount of time working on this, and I expect everyone who enters to take a modicum of care in their entries, and before they hit the send button, you NEED to read the rules.

Long story short, I will be pulling the entry and awarding the bronze to the Cel that had the next largest amount of votes.

And I will not be posting the site until GoalieZero finishes up the awards and Star-Phoenix finishes checking my work! Wish them luck! I am very happy to be almost done!

Quick question and I'm sorry if this was mentioned in an earlier post. I briefly scanned through the thread and didn't see anything about this but will we be doing a "Best in Show" like we did last year?

I did bring it up, by saying because there seemed to be no interest in the voting for Best in Show so I cut it. There was very little protest all around, so I decided not to do it this year. If you can drum up some interest for next year I would be happy to add it back.

I would have voted for BIS so if you do bring it back next year, I'll vote. I went through the entire thread but didn't see anything at all in regards to whether or not to have BIS voting. Oh well, not a big deal, there's always next year!

LOL by talking about it, when I put the post together I deliberately left off Best in Show. No one said anything so I decided not to do it, I might be remembering conversations I had via pm or in another thread. The last two contests getting votes to get the Best in Show together was like pulling teeth, and I would rather relax the rest of this month and help with the remaining duties as needed i.e, helping with the awards and fixing any errors. Also work on getting my happy self off of RS as my main site, the crashing has been horrendous as of late.

Next year I will ask about getting it back but the last two contests I have run the response was tepid at best.
