You're not actually allowed to charge buyers for Paypal here either, I remember when ebay put that motion into play. You can only add all charges that you'd like to recoup into postage and packaging in advance on the auction listing (and not after the auction has ended). You can actually report sellers charging for Paypal since it's not allowed. :)

I don't charge anyone for Paypal by the way, I feel that you just have to like it or lump it.

Do unto other as you would have them do unto you
I'm glad that everyone here feels this way. Some pplz really do not care now-a-days. Everyone here has given me some positive incite on international bidding and shipping. Thanks! :D

I really don't think you, or anybody not shipping international, should feel bad about it. I completely understand your reasons and I think that, if I was in the US, I'd probably feel the same :).

Being the seller, you're the one to have the right to choose your payment and shipping terms, and not the other way around. Buyers who complain about it are often the ones that will scam you in the end if you agree to their terms.

And about paypal, I also never charge fees to my buyers, as it's not accepted on ebay and mostly because I hate to pay those fees myself :P. Plus, I never charge any of the shipping material I buy, I only charge the actual postage on the package. I try to be quite fair, even if I end up paying some of the shipping fees X| .

Correct. Also, not sure about international postal supplies, but here in the US sellers can get shipping supplies for FREE from the USPS website. So if anyone here in the US is charging for supplies... SHAME ON YOU! :P

Oh I have also had international bidders break the rules that I apply to my US bidders, and that really upset me. Like someone mentioned above they wanted to pay in Bidpay, but I don;t take bidpay, I know its an easy form of payment, but I don;t take it, and I don;t want to. No where in my auctions do I mention that I will take other forms of payment outside MOney order and paypal.com (and I am starting to think of just taking paypal.com)

But this one person fought me about it, I was very angry and almost left bad feedback on these terms alone. Also had some people write that (after they won) cannot pay in paypal.com because of XYZ reasons! I guess because these issues come up more often with international bidders it makes me not want to have them at all.

I have also run into the problem of bidders saying they havent gotten their packages after a few days to a week. And leave feedback whatever, only to write they got them the next day. That blew my lid, and I told them to never bid on my auctions again because I would cancel their bids.

I think sending items in the US, I have had very few, IF ANY problems , but all my ebay problems have come from international bidders (and sellers!) so I just don;t know if its worth the risk sometimes.

But with cels I usually make an exception because of how rare they are, and I can feel towards the person

Oh but bubble wrap isn't free!!! And if you try to send items like VHS tapes (yes they are still around :P) To anyone without bubble wrap its been my experiance that they will throw a fit, books too!

Maybe its just my bidders that like to get after me! /swt

I think the main pattern, whether international or not, is actually reading the auction description before bidding.

I had one problem buyer in this country who didn't like my postage price. He thought it was too high when I explained that I entered the weight of the item and then typed that into the PO's website to get a shipping cost. But I saved myself on the neg feedback since he used an email address that was invalid, so I reported him and he got suspended hehe.

That's true, I take that back. :P The only supplies I ever have to buy is bubble wrap, clear tape, brown paper to cover flat rate shipping boxes (the PO is so picky!), tissue paper wrap, and occasionally packing peanuts.

Lol, I still have a vcr with several tapes lying around here. I was thinking of selling my anime tapes on ebay but I guess most pplz have upgraded to dvd players. Maybe I'll slip them in with smaller items as a freebie. Would hate to toss them out with the trash.

Please keep in mind some of us require custom forms although we have valid US addresses. If you see an APO or FPO address this is for the military living outside the states. I have had a few people get very confused as the zipcode is CA but I state that I require customs form on the package. Also military has very interesting headaches in the time span it takes things to go from point A to Point C than off to Point D so it can arrive at Point B.

Please ask if you need more info on a buyer most of us are happy to help.
Most Bishies are eyecandy therefore they must all be attractive for the females. One Problem though Can we have MORE LEGAL eyecandy??

Awww. You're a great international bidder for me. :)
Sakura-chan wrote:But really, it takes so long to get to the US ? I know most of the cels I send take about a week to get to most US destinations. Of course that always depends on where you are in the US.
Usually when I get packages from Canada, it takes about 3 weeks. If there are multiple auctions of the same item, I'll pay more for the non-Canadian auction just so I won't worry about it. But in cases like cels, I just make sure I keep all my email transactions.

I had a big problem with Belguim but it had nothing to do with my bidder. The post office in Belguim decided to hold the package in customs for 30 days. [sarcasm]Nice of them to let us know.[/sarcasm]

I used to ask bidders to contact me first if they are new. Now, I just use the blanket statement of "I reserve the right to cancel any bid for any reason". Luckily, I've only had to cancel 1 bid so far at the request of the bidder's mom. I also state my shipping charges for the US and that international will be more depending on your country. Austraila cost me $26 which surprised me. Generally, it's only $10-$12 for global priority since it's got tracking for international shipping. I track all of my packages so buyers can't tell me I didn't send it. The only packages I can't track are APOs but there are other forms I have to fill out for those.

Also, I'm with some of you. I don't charge PayPal fees. I hate when people ask me to pay it too. I do suck up and pay the charges so I can get what I want but believe me, I'm bitching them out for days. I charge flat shipping rates. If shipping is slightly less, it helps with my PayPal fees. If it's slightly more, I eat the charge. That's just how it goes. And with auctions, sometimes you get lucky and there's a bidding war on a cel you spent very little on. Anyone asking for fees then should be shot.
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!
