Awww. You're a great international bidder for me.
Sakura-chan wrote:But really, it takes so long to get to the US ? I know most of the cels I send take about a week to get to most US destinations. Of course that always depends on where you are in the US.
Usually when I get packages from Canada, it takes about 3 weeks. If there are multiple auctions of the same item, I'll pay more for the non-Canadian auction just so I won't worry about it. But in cases like cels, I just make sure I keep all my email transactions.
I had a big problem with Belguim but it had nothing to do with my bidder. The post office in Belguim decided to hold the package in customs for 30 days. [sarcasm]Nice of them to let us know.[/sarcasm]
I used to ask bidders to contact me first if they are new. Now, I just use the blanket statement of "I reserve the right to cancel any bid for any reason". Luckily, I've only had to cancel 1 bid so far at the request of the bidder's mom. I also state my shipping charges for the US and that international will be more depending on your country. Austraila cost me $26 which surprised me. Generally, it's only $10-$12 for global priority since it's got tracking for international shipping. I track all of my packages so buyers can't tell me I didn't send it. The only packages I can't track are APOs but there are other forms I have to fill out for those.
Also, I'm with some of you. I don't charge PayPal fees. I hate when people ask me to pay it too. I do suck up and pay the charges so I can get what I want but believe me, I'm bitching them out for days. I charge flat shipping rates. If shipping is slightly less, it helps with my PayPal fees. If it's slightly more, I eat the charge. That's just how it goes. And with auctions, sometimes you get lucky and there's a bidding war on a cel you spent very little on. Anyone asking for fees then should be shot.
