Ebay Seller Help

Post by kawaii-clamp-fan »

Whislt browsing ebay today I found that they cel I won at Chrisymas and was never able to pay for has been listed again. The cel I won was this one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWN:IT and the new one is - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Card-Captor-Sakur ... dZViewItem

The cel is the same -the A12 Key cel. The seller is different though. Does anyone know this seller personally? I'd like to bid, but they don't accpet Paypal so I can't :( I really wanted this cel and was upset when the auction didn't work out. What do you think I should do?

It seems strange. The First auction clearly states they only take Paypal while the new one says it will take everything but paypal.

You can still bid and if you win send an international postal money order, just add the $20 US for their flat fee international shipping.

The first seller may have been a ripoff artist and not owned the cel in the first place. Tip off's are the "private" feedback and the only 67.5% positive rating.

The one selling it now has been around since 2003 and has only positive feedback so you should be ok dealing with this person.

I was pondering on whether they're the same seller since the location that is listed on both auctions is relatively the same. Maybe it's just a coincidence. I know I've seen the cels "drivememercury" is selling around the net but I can't actually think of where.

If you did want to buy, I would suggest Auctionchex. This enables you to pay the seller by US cheque which just involves sending a Paypal payment to Auctionchex and then they send the cheque to the seller. I've used it once before and everything went smoothely. ^_^ Handy to keep in mind anyway if you come across a US seller that doesn't take Paypal but takes cheques. They used to send moneyorders too but I think they stopped that and now do cheques only. Can be a bit of a pain when money order is the only method of payment but I rarely come across those types of auctions.

Before you choose to bid I would ask the seller if they DO ship internationally. They seem to state that they will only ship within the US but yet they have the worldwide flat rate shipping quote added to the auction. I would definately ask since the auctions have mixed info on them.

And $20 is kinda high for shipping cels internationally, IMO. The most I've had to charge for international shipping on my cel auctions was about $12.00 Airmail depending on destination. Sometimes alot cheaper than that.

drivememercury is the name of a Beta member, here's their profile:

I agree with Nene, it seems like it might be the same person. The location
sounds the same and the odd use of HTML in the description looks similar.

I would contact the seller first, at the very least. But if the transaction fell
thru the first time, and it is the same seller again, then maybe you should
just stay away.

Burned once, twice shy.

Actually $20 is in the ballpark , I just mailed off an item around the size of a cel to Denmark that cost $24 for International Priority mail with insurance.

WOW! Isn't it crazy how much shipping something small costs a person? X|

Well, I got in touch with the seller and it sounds like they bought it from the other seller at a covention in Florida. I guess that makese sense as that was where the original seller was from.

I looked into other methods of payment, but everything charges fees :( I guess I'll have to just ignore the auction ^^;;

Thanks for your advice everyone *hugs*

So they are different people? That's good, at least.

There's http://bidpay.com/ but it also charges fees. I've yet to
come across a payment service that didn't. You might want to ask a friend
to pay for you, if you can.

Good luck! :)
