ebay has once again changed the "my ebay" format, and personally, i think it's sort of ugly. it's customizable, but it still hurts my eyes. or maybe it will just take some getting used to. honestly though, can't ebay just make up their minds and choose a design? any thoughts?

and just a quick rant: i decided to put my foot down on buyer's remorse. i credit myself as a very understanding person. but today someone used BIN on an item, then asked me to cancel their bid because they didn't read the description. the bidder went on to say that "international bidders only look at pictures, rarely descriptions" and that i should be understanding. well, i've had it and so i politely requested a payment for the item. what do you think? :/

I also noticed the changes. It seems rather nice, at first glance....but as I just tried to send the invoices- it is not easy to read as the last set up

He should buy it.... I list for the US only but frequently have the bid won by an overseas person. I will always send it, but I hate to ship overseas since I can not track it easily. I also wondered about whether they read it or not

Final Value Fees are freakin high. That is why you owe them so much now. -_- Even if the listing price was freakin free, the FVF is so freakin high it doesn't matter. Thus why I dont sell on ebay.. also because I had a run in with a few buyers that would have easily given me bad feedback if they could now because I would not adhere to them trying to scam me out of money. grr

I need the option of "something changed?" :^^: I can't say I ever loved it but then again I don't hate it. Guess I'm neutral so I didn't vote. :wink:

kathpatty, you can always offer your international bidders EMS shipping. That has tracking. It costs about $10 extra. Some sellers require it, which might stop some international people from bidding since they might not want to pay the higher shipping price. I have it as optional. Take the risk by going global priority. Usually there's no problem. (You always have your customs forms with the official USPS stamp proving you mailed it.) Or pay a little extra for peace of mind with tracking. The only thing I don't like about international shipping is I have to go in and deal with the postal workers instead of just using the kiosk. :roll:

I will try the shipping with the tracking overseas... if they contact me I will stipulate it and if they don't and win - I will tell them it is the only way I ship :D :D

Just thought I'd explain something about tracking international shipments since I found out recently that someone else didn't know this either.

I don't know about all countries but this applies to US to UK shipments.

Priority Mail is trackable using the customs number (CP.....US). Apparently Priority Mail can also be insured. Express is also trackable but Priority is cheaper. Sometimes only a bit more than regular airmail. Just some info. ;)

That's interesting since I had a package get lost traveling from the US to the UK. I took my customs form and receipt into my post office. I told the postman I had mailed it Global Priority Mail. He said there was nothing I could do about it. I was showing him the customs form. He told me that I'd have to fill out all sorts of forms and it could take months to locate the package if they ever did. Luckily, the package showed up a few days later at my buyer's house. Maybe he was just in a bad mood. :?

In all seriousness about tracking, I think the only thing it's really good for is to prove a buyer did indeed receive their package and/or a seller actually mailed it. That's why I require it. I had a buyer once tell me they never received their package. I gave them all the tracking info including stating that package had been received on . . . Yeah, I never heard from that buyer again. I just assume they were trying to get something for nothing. :wink:

I haven't been in the position of loss but I've had something arrive damaged. There's no guarantee to get back the money (I started the claim in March I believe and so far I've seen no compensation) and the USPS keep saying they need verification of damage from the UK post office. Well, the two branches of the post office here both stated to me that they have nothing to do with USPS insurance claims and all claims are down to the sender. They don't have a form nor communicate with USPS in any way.
Took about a dozen tries on the USPS help number to get hold of a person who knew how to handle international insurance claims and told me to send the item back to the sender. She filled out tons of forms at her PO and still isn't getting anywhere since still people are telling her that my PO has to verify damage even though that isn't part of protocol.

So yeah, you'll have a tough time over an insurance claim but Priority tracks the parcel step-by-step so it should rarely go missing. It gets tracked at the same points as Express. I like to know when it's going to be delivered. ^_^

I rarely check out ebay because of the new selling policy, but I really don't like the new format at all :? . I guess like you said Caroline, it'll take a bit to get used to.
