Ebay user khatmando bought several of my cels... on July 31. I sent an invoice.. and I've heard nothing from him, no payment..
How long does a user have to pay before you should start getting worried? :?

I'd say open an Unpaid item dispute 7 days after the invoice was sent. I find if they havent contacted you or paid 7 days after the invoice, most likely they will not be paying.

Usually the buyer has 7-10 days by ebay rules to send in their payment. Give them the full 10 days and if they don't contact you by Monday at noon (extra time in case they are not able to access the internet from anywhere but work), then start the unpaid item dispute. Incidentally, if your buyer lives in IL, near or around the Chicago area, there had been a massive power outage that lasted for a while due to rather nasty storms IL received. My parents got off lightly as they only had 1-2 days of no power, but they live a bit over an hour south west of the city in the suburbs.

Yep! 10 days should be enough! After giving the unpaid item dispute they'll have to atleast e-mail you. Image

Hope he pays!

email them

Have you emailed them on when you mail out the items to them....
That will usually get you a response- it is a nice way to ask for payment
if they do not respond than you can say that you attempted to reach them.....

Well, I asked politely to please pay.
Still nothing.
So today I sent an e-mail saying he had 24 hours to contact me regarding payment or I would file a complaint.
Lo and behold, I was paid. :D
He said that he was busy with renovation project and had completely forgotten about it.
Whether that's true or not.. *shrug*but the warning seemed to be the kick in the pants he needed.

There is a friend/collector that I know that lives in IL... last time I spoke with her she said they were having outages and that was a few days ago. Is this still going on? I was wondering why I had not heard from her for a few days.

I'm not sure, I think most areas have their power back if they had their power knocked out. Chicago seemed the slowest to get theirs back though. We haven't had any major storms since then either.

I just got an e-mail from her today ^_^ I was worried! LOl She said the power thing has been happening out there. I recently sent her a package too so I was afraid something might have happened to it. @_@ Everything is good now.
