Not sure what to do...

Post by Belldandy16 »

Hey friends!
i wonder if you can help me decide what to do...
i won this auction awhile ago...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0336761845
i just got the shirt today and it was totally not what i expected. the shirt is a child's size XL, not for an adult (of course i should have asked that question but oh well... i wasnt planning on wearing it anyways, just making it into a quilt). and the auction listing said "Never worn" but i looked at it closely and it did have signs of wear.
so now im not sure what to do about feedback. the seller gave me nice feedback but she lied about her item. so should i just not give feedback at all? im not a spiteful person. i really dont care. its just principal of the matter, i guess (if it IS worn before DONT say it wasnt). :? i dont want to give positive feedback either since she lied in her listing.

do you think i should give honest feedback or no feedback at all?

thanks for your help guys! :)

I'd give honest feedback, but I think I'd take it up with the seller first. You really should at least give the seller a chance to explain ;). You never know... perhaps the seller would be willing to give you a refund.

I would contact the seller about it first, you have plenty of time to leave feedback later if you choose, depending on the response you get

Definitely email her first. Is it possible that she had two? That doesn't look like a child's at all. I made that mistake once in a sale.

:x well i got a response from her ...
"hi, no that is the only one, and iv never worn it as it was to small for me. Its just been hanging in my closet! If your not happy with the shirt you can send it back to me then i will send you your money back."

i dont care, just dont lie in your descriptions. :flushie :wack

sorry guys. ive been burned by people lying (or omitting the truth :roll ) in their descriptions before, and it just irritates me.

thanks again for your advice! :friends:

You could open a claim with Ebay for an Item sold not as described.

If you decide to send it back , first take several pictures to backup that it was recieved in used condition as well as it being a Child's size.

When you send it back require signature confirmation so they can't say they never recieved it.

I do hope that it get resolved okay for you.

If you return it and get a refund ten as far as feedback I would not bother to leave any for even neutral feedback really hurts a small seller.

Per the changes Ebay put in a year ago , sellers can no longer give negative feedback , that one of the main reasons so many sellers have left Ebay.

actually she's one of those rare people that have left feedback before the buyer did!
it was nice feedback too.

hmmm. im beginning to think that she wasnt meaning to be deceptive... she's just dumb. lol she said when she bought it she couldnt wear it because it was too small... who buys a shirt that they cant wear?

idunno. im not too concerned about it. i never intended to wear it in the first place anyways (just wanted to make it into a blanket).

ill just email her to be more careful with what she says in the future.

thanks again for all your help guys! :)

One other thing to remember is that shirts with designs on them that are not *part of the fabric* will sometimes become worn looking over time anyway, even if not used. I don't know how you're determining the shirt has been worn, but if you're seeing cracks in the applied design, that's not necessarily wear from use. I have a couple shirts I've saved (concert T-shirts, etc) that I bought new and haven't worn/washed, but which are forming worn-looking cracks in the design just from age.

For me personally, if the person is willing to take it back and give a refund, I would say no harm no foul. It doesn't really sound like malicious intent or anything from what you have posted. She's not a high volume seller so you probably just sucks at descriptions.
