One can never be sure about what some will overspend for but in this case I suspect it was a scam bid to make the persons other auctions seem more valuable that they are. the bids at the end jump from $350.00 up to $1600.00 and the top two bids tied. the winner only placed the one bid during the whole auction and does not appear to be "walked up".

MLP:FiM has an insanely huge fan-base. I've definitely seen plushies sell well into the hundreds of dollars (if not $1k+) before. This particular item might have some suspect bidders, but most G4 fans are genuine and will spent $$$$ to get custom pieces.
