Hm... I'd tend to agree with Vapalla on the solution side. The only way I see of getting around that refund predicament is not to refund at all but send the dolls with tracking and withdraw the money to your bank. Not sure what I would do in that situation, but I guess the above tactic covers you against chargebacks and you don't lose any money.

Or if you really don't want to send the dolls perhaps accept the small fee loss? I would be tempted not to back down though, however that can come about.

I think I just made a completely useless post there.

I just checked the fees on Ebay.
Insertion fees are $2.40 for each doll and the ending value fee is $5.50 for each. So, Ebay fees along are $16.00. Then, Paypal fees came out to $5.98.

So, I am pretty sure she won't want to pay $21.00 for this. She definitely did not get those other dolls for cheaper if she has to pay for these fees.

If it was me , I would just complete the auction and transfer the paypal funds into your bank account and then ship the dolls to the auction winner(since they have paid the dolls are now theirs to do with what they want)
Do as suggested and log in to paypal the shipping info to show you did ship them thus ending your part. Before packing the dolls take some detailed pic's of the dolls to show condition was good before shipping. (in case they claim recieving damaged goods) Save all emails between you both in case you need to provide info to ebay.

Stop attempting to be the nice person who will get walked over by this unethical buyer.

Agreed. You would be fulfilling your part on the LEGAL CONTRACT entered into when she clicked "submit bid". There are no other options. Ignore her emails, she's just trying to scam you. You've got the money, ship the dolls, and DON'T REPLY TO THE EMAILS! Let her think what she likes.
Wait on leaving feedback, if she leaves you a nasty feedback, leave her one that explains what a pain in the ass she was.

Well, I ended up trying to offer her one last chance of salvation, since I am a weak fool (LOL). I told her to pay for all the fees, or I send the dolls out tomorrow morning by Priority with full tracking, etc. She does not get a full refund if she disagrees with the terms.

JWR, thanks a bunch for the advice about logging onto Paypal and taking pictures of the items prior to shipment. I haven't thought of that yet.

Wow, this is definitely interesting now . . . Now I am started to get quite entertained by all this . . . . kind of like playing Chess or Go. It's her move now . . .

I'm agreeing with everybody here. She is playing the game just right to get you screwed out of $21. I also say keep the money and send the dolls, don't be scared of it either, you are not a scammer and she just has a hard lesson to learn (asuming she's not an evil mastermind).

However there is a good side for her: She's promised to pay all the fees, right? Just let her know that the other doll she wants will now be technically $21 more expensive than before which would probably put your doll in the lead for cost effectiveness at this point in the game.

Or you could hold her money untill she sends you a check or money order for $21, then refund the money.

I know I wierd.

Really taking pictures isn't proof.

Paypal only asks for shipping confirmation and insurance.

Yes, it is very important that if you ship the dolls they are FULLY INSURED even if she didn't pay for insurance. In this case it is definitely worth the couple bucks it will cost, since she is untrustworthy. Pics won't hurt, but really won't help much either.

If you work out a refund deal, make sure it is one where she can't get the money back from you.

Pic's taken with a time & date stamp are evidence with ebay if the person trys to file with Ebay claiming the items were not as advertised/damaged. That way ebay will then tell the buyer to file with the post office a freight claim.

Had this happen once and it saved me headaches.

Be ruthless!!!! Ship the dolls with insurance and SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION. Paypal only accepts signature confirmation (not delivery confirmation) as proof of shipping....I don't know why. And yes, they will take a chargeback out of your bank account if the paypal balance doesn't cover it.

She won the dolls! She can't complain if she got what she bid on! If she leaves you a neg, just respond to it and give her one right back explaining what a pain in the ass she was.

If you insure for $200, is signature confirmation required automatically from the addressee, or do you still have to request it? Is it an aditional cost beyond the insurance?

This is exactly true. Cover your butt in as many ways possible. Trust me...paypal did not accept the insurance number as tracking when I had issues. Heck, you may even consider registered!

Shipping confirmation is $1.30 extra and WELL WORTH IT!

Plus, it's a major pain in the ass since the person either has to be there or go down to the P.O to personally sign for it (ordinarily not a good thing, but in this case.....

)

Doesn't signature confirmation give her the option of refusing to sign for them? In which case, I suppose they'd be returned to s-p.
