Weired......?

Hi guys, I have a question for you.....
In this morning I won Kaoru cel (I think.....). I got email from ebay saying "I WON THE KAORU CEL" and at the same time I got email "I DID NOT WIN"?????

SO I checked myemay and it says I won. I got email from the seller that I won. SO I just paid via paypal.....

I checked history and someone tied up my auction..... I am a bit worried what hapened.... Would you someone explain to me?

If, when you say someone tied up your auction, you mean that the history shows another bidder with the same ending bid as yours ... I think what probably happened is that this second bidder (perhaps through sniping ...??) put the same max/ending bid as yours. But, you won the auction because you placed that bid first.

I could be wrong ... and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am ... but I believe ebay gives priority to the person who places the bid first. So, if you place, say, a $100 max bid on an auction the very first day it's listed, and, then, a sniper comes along in the last few seconds and also places a $100 bid, leaving the auction to end at $100 ... your bid will win because you placed it first.

I'm not sure if this was a very good explanation. Sorry ... it's raining here, so my sinuses are working overtime this morning ---> headache!

When I pulled up the completed auction, it has your i.d. as the winning bidder, kittens... so it's YOURS.

Ebay has weird glitches and sometimes you get two notices about an auction, and sometimes you get none... hard to tell. I've never heard of an auction being "tied". That shouldn't be possible. So, just in case, perhaps you should send a little email to the seller confirming that you were the high bidder and that they received your payment. Better safe than sorry!

Congrats on winning such a pretty cel!

The only other possibility I can think of is that someone outbid you then retracted the bid. (or could the seller have cancelled the bid? I never sold so I don't know if sellers can do that or not.) If the ending window said you won, and the seller said you won, then I would assume it is yours. Congratulations!
