I received an email today from a winning bidder who just won several of my
auctions yesterday. The email was basically asking if I will take a payment
plan for the total that is due. It makes me assume the bidder doesn't have
the money to pay for the auctions. I really wish they had inquired about a
payment plan before bidding as most circumstances I do not accept payment
plans. Since I've never had this happen before I was hoping someone here
could give me some advice as to how I should reply to them.
Sounds like a major bummer, but if they haven't got the money then there's not a lot you can really do. I mean if you need the payment asap then you'll have to relist them, but if not, I'd try and work something out with them, just as long as they know they have to make a down payment now, they must have paid for the cels within the given time-frame (which of course is up to you) and that they understand that they do not get the cels until you have the full payment in-hand. Obviously if they're not willing to follow that do not feel obligated to meet their needs as they didn't have the courtesy to ask first.
At the end of the day it's your choice, I'd face the situation with a little understanding, as at the end of the day I'm sure you just want the deal to run smoothly.
People will ask, but that does not mean that you have any obligation to say yes. This person is obviously unknown to you, so I would politely tell them NO and hold them to what you understood from how you listed the cels. That means some form of PAY ME NOW LIKE YOU AGREED TO WHEN YOU BID
If they don't or can't comply use the system that eBay has in place to deal with it.
If they had asked before bidding my answer would be different

It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.
I believe the eBay feedback system has been upgraded in recent months, so that if a buyer does this sort of thing and you file a non-paying bidder alert as well as post negative feedback for them, they cannot retaliate against you with negative feedback. You're protected from the petty revenge feedback, so feel comfortable leaving them negative feedback if you need to.
I agree with Andy's suggestions. If you want, try to work it out. Politely "demand" payment now if you want and see what happens. This is a very bad circumstance for you and I'm sorry you have to put up with this. Let us know what happens.
Thanks for the help everyone. I still haven't replied to the winner yet and I've just noticed that they are bidding on other cels on eBay!! So it angers me that they want a payment plan and yet they are still bidding for other items. I may be jumping to conclusions but still...............
I wrote to the guy (goku_nozawa) that I just want him to know that I don´t accept payment plans on my auction.
He wrote back and told me if he can make the payment in 2 times.
Hmmm don´t know what I´m going to do either.
I don´t understand how the guy is thinking. If he already own Sugarflower money and need to do a payplan, why does he bid on almost
every dragonball cel auction on Ebay. That is quiet a lot of money.
Guys what should I do, should I take him away from my auctions?

I sent a friendly email earlier today letting him know I do not accept payment
plans and what forms of payment I accept, etc.
He replied still asking if he can make 3 separate payments, basically paying
for each auction separately over time. This is getting frustrating.

What does he not understand? Payment is supposed to be made within7- 10 days, unless for some odd reason the buyer can't get ahold of the seller and the seller doesn't contact the buyer about payment addresses and such. If you already said no payment plans, that means no payment plans. I'd give him his max of 10 days, and tell him that you'll boot him from the winning bidder spot if he doesn't make his payment(s). If he wants three seperate payments, fine, as long as he includes 3 shipping fees for each one. He might try to pull an "item not recieved" with paypal the way its going. Although, he could just have a bidding problem, or have over calculated his finances... but still, people who don't accept no make me frustrated Good Luck.
Apparently the guy is now bidding on almost every Dragonball cel auction on eBay. I'm seriously about to just drop the guy, give negs and report him. I've been in a bitter mood lately.
