- ask them to spell EVERYTHING.
- pretend there are seven of you at home and each time give the phone to someone else, using a different voice.
- do the same using the same voice.
- pretend the have reached a call centre : "your call is important to us". "your call may be monitored for training purposes."
etc...
it works for me.
Boy am I glad that you didn't go to my university, Gabriel.
If you really want to scare them, say:
"Hey, are you using SmartCall?"
Chances are, that's the computer program that they're running. Make sure that your voice is sugary-sweet and inquisitive.

I'm going after the company itself! THEY are the one who gave this goober a job and THEY put him in contact with my wife.
Eehh, I should have known, based on the way he treated your wife. I know
I always gave the phone to my sup. if the alumni asked for it . . . and I promise I never cussed them out. Actually, I was always very good about being polite. I've been a liberal, a conservative, and a moderate on the phone.
Basically, telemarketers are people who have no training to do other things in life (yes, I admit I have none--I'm in college! Plus, I wanted a job on campus). Or they might be people who have been laid off or something. But I do encourage you to go after the company . . . it's the only way you will get your message across; I highly doubt that you will ever be able to contact the call center directly. With my job, people were much better informed as to how to contact us, since all the people we call are alumni.
My only wish is that his sups. happened to be monitering that call (they usually do that on a monthly or bi-monthly basis--or if your not getting any donations/sales) so that they fire him. He deserves it, no matter how badly life has been treating him. Why? Because he wasn't doing his job. Plain and simple.

But I wouldn't doubt that he acts this way a lot, so he should get the boot eventually.
