Japan auto show. Anime cars?

Post by monkeyboy »

Just viewed this slide show of the auto show:

http://news.yahoo.com/photos/ss/events/ ... 0610210842

Some of the cars and motorcycles have a close resemblance to ones I've seen in anime shows.

Plus some of the Japanese women modeling in their outfits with the cars are entertaining. :^^:

And now the great question of the universe:

Why do the guys get great eyecandy (i.e. skinny girls in tight clothes and/or short skirts) and the only thing left for us girls is old men in business suits? X| :P

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

the 1st bike the gen-ryu looked pretty sweet. i also like the lexus sedan concept, the mitsubishi concept x, tyota concept lf-a and the bentley azure were definately my favs from the show

i think the cars that were ugly that could have been done better the nissan gtr as well as ecoracer by volkswagen, mazdas hybrid

overall i think it looked like a great show and i cant wait to see some live action pics of some of those vehicles :D

Interesting. I thought that Nissan had both the best and worst ideas at the show. Best = GTR, worst = Pivo and it's egg-shaped cabin. The thing that puts me off about many of these Japanese cars is that they are very high up, they're like tanks.

Ha HA! You're so right klet!! I don't want to see old men, where are all the hot looking guys????

By the way, what ever happens to these cars? Do private collectors purchase them?

I think protoypes are almost always kept on display at the factories/showrooms themselves.
I don't think manufacturars would sell them.

Where are the hot-looking guys? That's very obvious, but I'm sure you know the reasons.
This is a broard statement because we know that people don't buy cars solely based on the ad but... Male models don't have the sex appeal to help convince wealthy male buyers to spend 100,000+ on each vehicle. I'm sure that 99% of wealthy individuals that buy these custom vehicles (once they are for sale) are males, the girls are more eye candy.
It not just about selling a commodity but the lifestyle and implied meaning that the vehicle will 'attract the girls'.

I dislike vehicles but know that most blokes love cars/mechanical things so its not financially viable advetising them to women.

Speaking for myself with regard to the motorcycles, I much prefer to gawp at a fit biker babe than a big hairy Hell's Angel. Nuff said. LOL

Simple eyecandy = trophy wife. Business suits = trophy husband.

Yep. Same thing goes for beer commercials. Drink this beer and supermodels will want you. (Because we all know supermodels want beerdrinkers.)

The thing I can't understand though is that there seems to be a trend in commercials over here where the beerdrinker prefers the beer over the supermodel. That is so disconcerning.

Another simple one, beerdrinkers = target market = alcoholics = buy more beer = more money!

Darn, want the cars not people blocking them.

Somewhat weirded out by the new GT-R PROTO... not too sure if I like it or not.

All the weird doors are funny to see, they'll all be replaced with common doors when they become real, which is a shame since they do make the cars stand out in a crowd.

Overall the funniest are the Pivo and i-turn (think that was it... the Toyota 3 wheeled vehicle).

Perhaps there are a few exceptions.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
