What do you mean "cook" ? You just get by on the basics that either get hot water or milk added to them or that just get plopped in the microwave for 30 secs.

The only cooking you need to learn are two or three "signature"-dishes that you painstakingly try to bring to perfection when you have someone around you really want to impress.
From the book of "God, you're so obvious, Gabe!"

From the 700+ attempts at reachng that point, about 200-250 will besomewhat edible. So that's another meal for you.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

All I have to say is:
1. Always use 3 adjectives to describe something.
2. The words nice, good, and pretty don’t exist.
3. Tell the teacher what they want to hear.
4. Most Los Angeles GE teachers listen to, and believe, 90.7FM KPFK
5. Never say in one sentence what can be said in 3-4 pages.
6. When in doubt obfuscatory BS is the answer.

Everything I need to know, I learned from my botmaster.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Thanks for everything guys. I checked out my grades for the classes i took during the fall semester and i got: Math - A, English - B, Theater - B. Im pretty happy for the grades i got, but i think i deserved an A for Theater but ill take the B. I think it was a pretty successful first semester. Now im taking english 101 over a period of 5 weeks, so that will really test my skills :o

You'd better believe it!! Nice job!! :hello It's hard to make the transition to college, and anything that doesn't look like a bowl of C's is a satisfactory result for most people... even though *everyone* always thinks they're going to get A's.

And the good thing is that it usually gets a little easier after this, as you get the routines well established! :D

my first year was fun

Post by ginga123 »

Congrats on being in college--welcome to the real party :P

My first year was fun at my tech school..I met my boyfriend of now 4 3/4 yrs....then I transfered to a private catholic university X|

They didnt accept half of my hrs I earned so I was a 3rd semester freshmen instead of becoming a sophmore back in 2002. X|
It is soooo hard then...staying up til wee hours of mornin finishing that 10pg paper for whatever classes it was for [never wrote one more than 4pgs ever at the time X| ], studying while eating, doing laundry...etc

Now, that I'm ONE CREDIT HOUR AWAY :l (darn registrar!!) from becoming a senior :D its become alot easier but classes are becoming much much more demanding....meaning I actually have to use my brain in and out of class. I was soo burnt out towards the end of last semester--that I gave up--I didn't study for my finals---just made guides for me to skim--totally winged it X| Luckily, I did alright :^^:

Im sure you'll do great---just dont stay up too late, dont drink at all or too much (studies have confirmed that it kills braincels if you do--I havent had a drink since I was 19) Please do all your homework and dont be afraid to ask questions in class or to others. And, if ya are struggling to get that paper done...get help from your college's Writing center [the professor will love ya to death--im not lyin!! ]

Basically, the if a big assignment is due..get started on it immediately!! I failed two classes, in two different semesters, because of this problem but I passed the rest with B's. Dont do what I did, and I dont do it now, and you'll do just great!! Conserve your energy and dont let stress eat ya alive--it will eat your grades too :O

Good luck!! :^^: 8)

Congrats on those great grades! Now comes the painful part... keeping those grades. >.<

Anyways, glad to see you made it through and enjoying your time there. College life is short... then you get out and the boredom occurs. =P

Good luck with your 5 week class.
