luck with everything sounds like a tough mess is good, isn't it! Try saying that with more context.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I hope by this time you are far, far away on the top of some hill somewhere! You poor thing! I hope the water recedes quickly and that you will be back home to shop-vac the little bit of water out of your almost-dry basement soon! (Yes, this is wishful thinking, but HEY, it works sometimes!
)
Add my bazillion dry thoughts to everyone else's!

Ugh!!
I hadn't seen the news reports until just a bit ago. Footage of the waters rushing up the sides of the old textile miles is an eerily familiar sight!
It looked bad enough that I called my sister in Pittfield, Mass. to see how they were doing. They're up on a little crest, so are high and dry, but folks on the southern coast of Maine are in some places stranded because the little old bridges are washed out. Some of those old dams on the tributaries are NOT going to take this much water very well. They're old and ... well, old. (I was going to say old and rickety, but I don't know having not seen them.) But it's not pretty in any event. Worry, worry.
The last time I saw anything like that -- other than Katrina, which is in a whole league of its own -- was in 1993 in Iowa.
I don't know what part of the area you're in, Kujaku, but I hope its a part that is experiencing the tapering-off part of the storm now!!

Hi EveryOne!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the Warm, Dry Thoughts <----yes, I added the warm in there this time, it's a bit cold. We left safely, and I'm currently near my house, which doesn't look good from where I'm at. the damn rain is still going
The land is so saturated with water, that the new rain falling is making the rain level rise higher.
(I throw my fist at the rain
). I left my girls up at a friends place about less than 3 hours away from where we live. So they're nice and cozy. We originally tried going to one of the shelters, but it started to fill up. Since we had alternatives (friends, yay) it was best we leave what little room there was to people that didn't have any other means. I'm currently back because I was approached and asked to help. So I drove back this morning, cheated a bit to check my drenched house from afar
& drop everyone a line to say that I'm okay and appreciate the dry thoughts
I'll drop back in later.
