I just have a question.

What do you do with all the manga you take up in class?

Do you ever give it back to your students?

No I do not do that.

Congratulations Brian on hitting a big hurdle! I know exactly how you feel, except here in Florida to be state certified I have to pass 4 tests. I failed the last one by 2 points, and I retook it in February and got nearly a perfect score. I know why I failed it...Hurricane Wilma was knocking on our doorstep while we still had to take the test because they wouldn't cancel it. Talk about a stress loader.

I hope you make it being National Board Certified! I still have to wait a few years for that one, but good luck! I've heard it's really tough and hard, but it's worth it.

Right now I'm awaiting to hear if I'm state certified because they haven't received my college transcript yet...goh I hate to wait. Here's from one teacher to another! *cheers* :cheers

Congratulations on passing the test!

I agree, anyone who is still teaching after two years in this political and social morass called the contempary school environment should be congratulated for simply sticking it out. The controversy has not yet ended in California about the high school exit exam. One would have thought that poor grades in core competency classes be sufficient to deny graduation. With the exit exam, why even bother going to class for academics when you could just take the exam and pass, assuming that it has been sufficiently validated to be a measure of competency.

At least you get the 4% pat-on-the-back to go with the certification. (more money to buy cels :) ) I wonder where the districts are going to pull the money to pay for yet another poorly funded federal mandate.

I'm so happy for you Brian :) I'm proud of you for sticking it out and
working so hard. I know you've had to juggle a lot this past year with
work and school, I'm so glad to know it's paid off.

I'm sorry that teachers have to jump through so many hoops. But your
students are very lucky to have you. Be sure to celebrate right and
treat yourself to something nice. You truly deserve it :friends:

Wow, congrats! I wanted to be a teacher, but they wouldn't let me teach. I'm not strict enough. ;D

Awesome, I'm really happy for you!
