I'm sure some of you may already know of this web site.

Posting the link because I thought members like Elfstalker and others who collect kimono and other clothing might find it helpful.

I thought it was amazing to see the photos, and have spent hours looking at them and reading about the people and places in the Bakumatsu-Meiji Period.

Great pics! Look at those women in the cloth-washing photo - how tiny they are! Especially the one standing, where you can see how short she is. Ah, the days of pre-calcium-enriched diets!
