Seems the live action movie of the classic anime Speed Racer is on the "front burner" again.

I'm mixed about this project, let's hope they don't Matrix it up too much!
What do you think?
Speed Racer movie on again?!

I'd think with Vince Vaughn involved, it'll be funny. Something like The Ballad of Ricky Bobby perhaps.
However, I did not like his movie The Break-up. It was so depressing and really wasn't that funny.
I'm wondering if Vince is trying to swing back towards dramatic roles, similar to what he did in The Cell and some other movies.
Hopefully not. A Speed Racer movie should be tongue-in-cheek, considering the subject material.
And since racing is hot right now in Hollywood, it'll probably get made this time around.
The Wachowski Brothers have been attached to just about every film project I can think of,
so I can't tell if they'll actually be involved with this or not.
On a side note, there's something so very-very WRONG with the news blurb in the first link you posted.
Right next to the Speed Racer movie news is:
"Police violence against children remains rampant in Papua New Guinea..."
Seeing all those kids behind those barred windows seems so much like a dark comedy.
How sad and ironic.
They almost look as though they're reading about the Speed Racer movie.
