So would you say those Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2 animated films are pretty good?
I haven't been following Captain America comics for a number of years (last ?six to ten years) since my three nearest comic book shops folded or moved to different states. I like Mark Waid's take on Cap while he was there. The regular Captain America comic series hadn't been blessed with the best Marvel writers. Maybe they were good writers, but had a hard time coming up with decent storylines since Cap had less weakness to exploit.
Mark Gruenwald locked up Cap for a long run and he put out a few interesting ideas, but I think they were often not so well executed. Jim Steranko had a great short run there. He wrote those Cap comics too besides drawing them right? I liked the Cap stories during the Tales of Suspense comic period also.
I rather liked that comic book where they had Batman and Captain America fighting each other. They are both as skilled as anyone could ever get hand-to-hand combat-wise.
