What I've been ^ to... (that means up)

Post by BleedingOrange »

Hey guys,

I don't come to Beta much these days. I've been systematically selling off all my cels (I just wanted to say systematically). But I thought I'd let you know what I HAVE been doing. Even though most of the people that I think KNEW me aren't around anymore either!

Well, I've been going to school for nursing. I took a year off but I'm going back in the fall.

In December 2005 (I may have mentioned this before), I went to Las Vegas with my brother and we got to be extras in the movie Rocky Balboa. I got to meet Sylvester Stallone and it was pretty cool. Except I had a horrible stomach virus at the time and let's just say the plane ride wasn't the best!

Besides that, my new hobby has become writing and playing music. I've been lucky enough to meet a few bands... namely Switchfoot and The All-American Rejects. I got to hang out with the Rejects for about 45 minutes to an hour before the concert started. Check out the pics:

I know I look pretty dorky!
But whatever! I had glasses for a little while. Had contact problems. I went to the Honda Civic Tour about a week or two ago and was right in the front with Fall Out Boy. Literally, 5 feet from my face shred'n guitar solos!

I decided to start writing music after Hurricane Rita hit my house in 2005 and at first I was pretty bad, but i'm getting better. I have only done acoustic recordings so far and I do them ALL with just a PC MIC, so the recordings are far far far from professional. But if you want to hear what I've written thus far, 4 of the songs are on my myspace music page.

I'd like to hear what you think! Go to:
http://www.myspace.com/dinomightmusic

That is not the name of my band or anything. I just picked a random name for the myspace. I'm still trying to get a band together with my friends and write some electric stuff.

In the midst of writing songs, I covered a song by Weezer, called Jamie. I put it on YouTube and then another Weezer cover, Buddy Holly, on my myspace. A few days later Weezer.com, THE OFFICIAL SITE, linked to both on their main page. The NEXT DAY, RollingStone.com linked to them too!

Check it out here, I'm the third video (the jamie video)... I did it as a recording and didn't expect to put it on YouTube.

So after the attention, I started doing covers of songs on YouTube. You can watch them at:

And anyway. That's mostly what I've been up to. Throw in some broken hearts (or the same heart broken and put back together and broken again a few times) and a few mild injuries and that's it. lol.

Just thought I'd let you all know! Later!

1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Busy, busy!
With all the ups, downs and new things going on in your life, it's no wonder you've not had the time/inclination to post on a forum.
If the music and writing is your passion, stick with it because it's important to keep doing the activities you love. Plus, you'll get better all the time as you learn to focus your mind in different ways, coming up with masses of original ideas and techniques.
