You can't predict the future with certainty.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Thank you for the info Graymouser. You've set my mind to ease. We just returned from the store and I purchased some 20 Mule Team Borax cleaner. I read loads of stuff from several message boards that state it works well with killing the larvae and about 90% of people swear by it. What's your thought on this?

I think that will work out just fine. I don't think there is much difference between borax and boric acid. They are closely related and what applies for one probably applies for the other.

Good luck with your de-fleaing. :D

One thing I found works for those older hopping around fleas is to set up traps consisting of a white bowl with some baby oil in them.

I would set up a lamp to shine on them , the light reflecting off the white bowl attracts fleas and the jump in and get trapped and die.

I am a relief veterinarian. Basically, I contract out to various pet hospitals/clinics whenever they are short handed. It usually means a lot of emergency work since most people don't like the long hours and the stress. (I love the pace and the challenge of it, but that's just me) I do spay/neuter clinics and regular day practice too.

Southern California has a big flea problem so I have to talk a lot with pet owners about flea control.

If you can afford it get an ozone treatment. Ozone kills everything and because it's a gas it seeps in EVERYWHERE. Then air out the house and everything's fine, no pesticide residue.

Other than that I use foggers. You can do it yourself and they are pretty effective.
