i rarely use sugar as something I add to cereal, tea, and etc... I once used a bit of sugar on my cereal sometime last year... I use regular sugar if I have to. I try to stay away from the substitutes because I get enough of that stuff from any diet sodas I drink. LOL

I know the majority of my family uses splenda though... not sure why. @_@

That was the most amazing thing ever. When I was in Japan, I drank green tea every morning with no sugar or anything added and I was just fine. I need to find some good green tea here in the US. I'm not sure which brand to buy though. X|

Yeah, honey is good for chicken and biscuts - nothing else! Remember, I'm of the rare breed of females who isn't into sweet stuff but I must have sugar in my tea. I prefer real sugar too but I'm not buying any for this. It's all the free stuff at work. And free stuff is free stuff. If I were to go to the store to buy something hot to drink, it'll always be hot chocolate. :^^:

I've been using the Splenda because I've heard good things about it. It tastes fine but I wanted to make sure there wasn't some medical thing I was missing. I think it was Sweet N Low that had the cancer scare a few years ago. I avoid that like the plague.
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

I usually buy the Good Earth brand tea. I like it better than the other brands. Stop & Shop runs out of it a lot, so when I see it, I buy like 6 boxes! For matcha, I buy directly from Japan.

What kind of tea are you drinking DT?

My favorite is anything with Peppermint. I grew up loving the Sleepy Time variety (with the bears in night caps on the box). But now I will make green tea w/ peppermint also. Plain Green and Chamomile round out the varieties that can be found in my cupboard.

(What The?! Alton Brown is talking about tea tonight.)

Oh and my friend turned me on to this device that they sell at Shirokiya (a store in one mall here). It is a grinder specifically for tea leaves. You just put the powered green tea leaves directly into your water, and it is So Good. Allison said that it even helped her lose some weight by drinking it instead of other things (not to mention a ... "cleansing" effect).

Now that I've remembered it, I need to go find mine. I wonder which box I would be in if I was a tea grinder...

I agree! The less chemicals in my food, the better!

Ever try 'Sugar in the Raw'? It still retains a brown hue and; in my opinion; it's tastier than regular sugar.

What market do you shop in?! :puzzled I wish my supermarkets carried that.

As for tea itself, I prefer Twinnings- peppermint & Earl Grey are my favorites. :)
