Favorite Villains

Post by blueheaven »

Richard Widmark died today at the age of 93. He will always have a place in my heart as one of the greatest movie villains ever. Anyone who saw the 1947 film Kiss of Death knows what I am talking about.

So I ask you, who is your favorite villain? You can chose any medium you like. Movies. TV. Books. Anime. Comics.

Favorite Villains.

In books it would be Professor James Moriarty

In comics Sinestro

In Movies Hans Beckert (Peter Lorre in Fritz Lang's M 1931)
"Like the wind crying endlessly through the universe, Time carries away the names and the deeds of conquerors and commoners alike. And all that we are, all that remains, is in the memories of those who cared we came this way for a brief moment." Harlan Ellison

Ugh...that's a tough one. X|

I can't be postive of these choices, but...

Comic Books - Doctor Doom
Movies - Robert Mitchum in "Night of the Hunter"
Anime - Rin Kobayashi in "Please Save My Earth"

Rin runs the entire gamut of emotions with me. I feel sympathetic and sorry for him, but I also completely understand why he's so angry, dangerous and ticked off. :saiyan

Great question BH. I always went for villians whom you never quite know what their true intentions are. Ambiguity is great. On the other hand, just plain evily cool is always in style.

TV: Tie - Devil (Reaper) / K.A.R.R (Knight Rider)
Comics: Mr. Gone (The Maxx)
Anime: Schwarzwald (Big O)
Movies: Tie - Unicron (Transformers) / Skeletor (MotU - Live Action...Frank did a friggan awesome job in this)

Cool topic!

For myself it would go roughly as follows,

Games: Septhiroth - FF7.
TV: Sheriff Buck - American Gothic.
Anime: The Devils of Kimone - Ninja Scroll.
Comics: Judge Death - 2000 AD.
Movies: Arnie as the Terminater in the original movie.
Books: Dracula (though his real life counterpart Vlad the Impaler was in many ways much more terrifying!).

What does "this" refer to?

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Yes... thank you Brian for starting a topic I've always been a little reluctant to myself. :dsmoke

Comic Books: Grendel / Hunter Rose (with Ozymandias from "Watchmen" coming in at a close 2nd)
Cartoons: Tie between Stewie Griffin & Invader Zim
Anime: Can you count Gendo Ikari as a villian? If not - then a tie between Legato & Light.
Movies: Robert De Niro as the Devil ("Angel Heart")
T.V. Series: Adrian Pasdar as Jim Profit (from the short-lived series "Profit")
Books (Literary): Tough one... if I had to choose, it'd have to be Milo Minderbinder ("Catch-22")
Video Game: Doctor Wallace Breen ("Half-Life" series)
