Yes, even that.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

No BH. I was referring to the scene where:

Bruce asks Lucius if the new suit can protect against dog bites and Lucius says it would work great against cat claws. |

I saw this on Wednesday night... and I LOVED it! Ledger was just awesome as the joker.
I too almost fell out of my chair laughing at the pencil trick, the theater was pretty quiet but my crazy laughing. <_<....>_>...<_< what?
I've watched the youtube video about a dozen times and I laugh every single time. I have such a warped sense of humor.

I've seen it twice now and I was completely amazed! I was trying to ignore all of the hype about it for the past 5 months and I entered the theater skeptical. I figured it would break box office records because the first one was good and also because of the anticipation of Heath Ledger's performance, but I didn't think I would come out of the theater thinking "This is the best movie I've ever seen!" They really took the Batman legacy and squeezed every last ounce of meaning and substance out of it. I thought all of the characters were perfectly cast/portrayed and the special effects supported the amazing plot instead of distracting from it like most action flicks - they were the icing on the cake. I mean I had this feeling coming out of the theater. It was a feeling of being completely satisfied. Like after eating a huge Thanksgiving dinner, only I was consuming this amazing movie. Its now one of my favorite movies, even though I didn't like message the film left you with - mostly the last thing Batman says at the end of the film.
And now I have to say something about Heath Ledger...
It was so hard for me to watch Heath Ledger as the Joker. Was it hard for any of you? Although I've never thought of him as one of my favorite actors, I've always liked him in the roles he plays. People have been wondering if it was the role that killed him and I thought that its possible, but when the allegations came out that he was doing illegal drugs I didn't know what to think. But then when I saw him in this film...oh God.
Throughout it I kept forgetting that its Heath but then when I did remember the contrast between what I remembered of him in his other roles and between the Joker just made me cry. The worst part is that I would keep getting little glimpses of the Joker (like certain angles or flashes) that for a brief second would look like Heath's real person barely visible inside this monster. The Joker is arguably the most sadistic villain of any comic and I just kept thinking about what he must have gone through to contort his soul into this performance. Jack Nicholson even called him and warned him about this role, told him that it would mess with his head. As most people know, actors (good actors) go through a lot preparation for the roles they portray. I've read articles stating that Heath would lock himself in his apartment and read comic after comic while preparing - writing down notes, studying the Joker, submersing his psyche. And it makes me sick to think of how what kind of a state his mind and emothions were in when he came home to his flat from a day of being the Joker. His performance was so intense it freaked me out, and I was just with the Joker for three hours. I was laying awake in bed not able to stop thinking about how scary he was for a couple days after I saw the movie. After adapting your voice, your body language, your thinking, your habits, your emotions to such an evil character day after day, how do you fall asleep at night? And then I remembered the sleeping pills. Tragedy isn't a strong enough word for what happened to him. The only thing that makes me feel better is hoping that he gets the Oscar.
And on a lighter note: Has anyone heard the rumors that Johnny Depp is going to play the Riddler and Phillip Seymour Hoffman is going to be the Penguin in the next movie?
I feel bad for whoever is going to attempt to make another superhero movie after this one, because the bar as definitely been raised.

I think that is assuming that Chris Nolan and Christian Bale are up for another film. Ledger's death took a toll on both of them. If those two aren't involved, I think a lot of fans (including myself) will not go. At the very least, Jon and Chris would have to write the screenplay for Bale. I would like to see one more film, and that's it. Don't overstay your welcome.
I was sad after the film. I realized that this is the only time we'd get to see this dynamic performance. During the film, I was completely engrossed in the moment. According to his friends, Heath was not overtaken by the role. He was cheery and laughing with Nolan, Caine, and Ledger on and off the set. He had not been sleeping well before starting this film, and simply took a bad combination of sleep meds to correct the problem. It happens more often than you think.
I could get behind Depp, because he melts into every role he does. I would like to see a villain on screen that has not been done before. The Penguin is just an awful villain. My vision for the next film would be...
Harley Quinn - Isla Fisher: Dr. Harleen Quinzel was assigned to treat the Joker, who warps her mind in order to become an agent of chaos.
Poison Ivy - Gillian Anderson: Pamela Isley is an environmental chemist who is becoming disillusioned with the current policies in Gotham, and becomes an environmental terrorist setting her sights on Wayne Enterprises.
Catwoman - Angelina Jolie: Selina Kyle is a woman whose husband testifies against the mob. Before the trial ends, her husband and daughter are killed by mobsters and she is left for dead. Angry at both the police who didn't protect her family and the mob that murdered them, she dons the Catwoman persona to make both of them miserable.
Anyone else notice that The Dark Knight is now #1 on the IMDB Top 250?

Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.
I havent seen the movie yet, but I really would love to see it. Just havent had the time nor have I been feeling well enough.
I just wanted to commet and agree with blueheaven. I watched everything that happen about him passing away. An he was taking sleeping pills even before he started the movie. An he died while in the middle of making another film. So I dont believe he was overtaken by his role as the joker.

Ah, so all of that was just a bunch speculation surrounding his death? Now I feel a little stupid for being taken in by all the hype. What would be the motivation for the media and fans to spread rumors like that? Trying to rationalize his death? Or trying to cash in on it? Probably both.
It was still agonizing and thrilling watching his performance. I don't think it lessens the tragidy of it in any way but now I don't feel as distraught over it.

It's a curse!!! This time it's Morgan Freeman!

http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM ... 9zrVyH9JfQ

Morgan Freeman is critically ill after a car crash, a US hospital has confirmed.
A spokesman for the Regional Medical Centre in Memphis, Tennessee, said the 71-year-old The Dark Knight actor's condition was "serious".
Mr McFerrin said it appeared that Freeman's car was airborne when it left the highway and landed in a ditch. "They had to use the jaws of life (hydraulic cutters) to extract him from the vehicle," he said. "He was lucid, conscious. He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point."

I think people just need a reason, sometimes. Some folks cannot handle the fact that he died from an accident, and nothing more. Seems so pointless and absurd. It would be like if Kurt Cobain died from tetanus cause he stepped on a nail. We think there has to be a point to death. A reason. But sometimes, death is pointless. At least his life wasn't pointless. He made great movies, and a beautiful little girl.toonybabe wrote:Ah, so all of that was just a bunch speculation surrounding his death? I would like to see Harley Quinn or Catwoman in the next movie. But I think Catwoman should be played by an asian woman and she is a ninja that really gives Batman a run for his money.
Harley Quinn, she's just rad, if they did do Harley they would have to include Ivy.
