My scanner/printer broke too! help?
So I recently saw a topic about a broken scanner and was hoping maybe I could get some help too. I have a lexmark all in one copier, scanner, printer combo (don't know the series right now, not home...but it uses the ink cartridge 1) and recently it just decided to stop. The problem is that it always says the cover is open when its not. I've even sat on the cover to make sure it was closed and that didn't sem to solve the problem. I really don't care about getting the printing function back as much as I care about getting the scanning function back. I thought it wouldn't matter that it said cover open to scan but when it attempts to scan it says printer busy. This is really aggravating because we only bought it about 2 years ago and with my cels coming in the scanner is an important accessory. Anyone have any idea how to bypass the printer open message? Thank you!

Probably the best thing you can do is google your printer model and look for others with the same problem and see how/if they fixed it. You may also want to check Lexmark's web site for instructions related to the error as well. If all else fails, you can always contact Lexmark's technical support -- after all, that's what they're there for
.
A quick google search for me turned up TONS of folks with the same problem on a wide array of Lexmark all-in-one models (and a huge range of fixes). Seems to be a common problem across many Lexmark models, so perhaps you might consider looking for a new printer and/or scanner that doesn't seem to suffer from these kinds of chronic problems.
