Adding to the menagerie

Post by JWR »

Well I know I actually live in the middle of a city but as I mentioned before when my home was invaded by a raccoon that we have a lot of wildlife sending a lot of time visiting our home.

Besides 3 raccoons that come by (at least they have not decided to live here) a family of skunks , possum and verious squirells and such. We have recently had 2 beautiful Red Tailed Hawks decide to live in the area.

Here is a pic of one of them http://ryan.rubberslug.com/gallery/albu ... 215&i=2959

Last evening the 2 landed on our roof and one preceeded to hop onto one of our skylights in our sunroom while we were sitting there much to the fun of our cats. It actually looked down at us and pecked at the plastic dome several times over our heads while sitting there for 15 minutes.
They both seem to be females with the brown "camo" coloring and speckled front breast feathers.

Never a dull moment around here X|

I guess they don't call it "Eagle Rock" for nothing. "What are we having for supper?" "I dunno, how about a kitty carry-out." "Sounds good -- let's rock!"

I've seen a bald eagle flying over our supermarket here in Cephiro, but mostly there are lots of black vultures who circle over the pond, to the annoyance of the ducks and geese who are trying to raise families. Happily they mostly eat dead fish.

Nearby we have a box turtle that I see every so often in our yard or crossing the road (they can really move when traffic is coming!). Plus lots and lots of tiny flying bloodsuckers.
