To go or not to go...

Post by Shampoo »

That is the poll question!

So I'm in a bit of a conundrum:

One of my fav performers is having 2 last
U.S. concerts (big ta-da concerts) for his old solo album
However, he has a new cd coming up for release in Sept
so I'm sure he will have tours for it in 2011.

My problem is.. do I make the trek all the way to LA
for his concert coverin my fav album this yr, or wait for something
closer like Chicago for next yr on his new un-heard album?

Cowpie perhaps, however, Kansas City is still a rather
large city with a pretty big venue. I can't imagine that
he won't be coming there. Try living in Davenport, IA. X|

But to answer your question - head to LA. If this is your
favorite album, then he is sure to be playing everything
you are wanting to hear. By next year, you may miss
out on a lot of things you really wanted to see.

Are you 100% certain there will be another tour?

Have you already seen this performer?

I had tickets to see my favorite band back in 2001, and last moment wasn’t able to go. The band broke up shortly after and I had serious serious regret for years.

I lucked out and they got back together about 7 years later and I finally got to see them, and I was sooooo glad to finally be at that concert. It really meant a lot to me.

If you’ve seen them before then I’d maybe say hold out for a later concert closer to home because needing a plane ticket for a concert is a big investment.

But if you haven’t gotten to see them before and they mean a lot to you, I’d recommend you go for it. It could turn into a pretty major regret if anything went wrong and there wasn’t another tour.

Also, I have to say that another of my favorite musicians has had a lot of variety with his albums… he’s moved in a direction that doesn’t appeal to me as much as his older music, and there is a definitely difference in how much I enjoy his concerts…I’m really glad I got to see him a few years ago because I just don’t enjoy his current concerts half as much. So it might be worth it to be guaranteed you already like the music that will be played, in case the new album turns out to be a disappointment. Esp if you will be traveling regardless to see the performance.

O man I didnt even think about that.. >_<
Nope not sure.. just 'assuming' he'll have one afterwards.
I've seen him before in concert but I was 14 at the time and
he was w/ his band so it wasnt a solo show.
This would be first time seeing him solo.

Glad it all worked out. Yeah, been scarce around here since I don't really collect much anymore. I did wish you a happy birthday on your FB page. Enjoy the concert!
